The hotel is set just outside of town and so it is within a pleasant location that is good for accessing the wider area. The hotel is very 1980s but that's not a bad thing in my opinion! We stayed for 3 nights and only had heating and hot on the final night, this was very inconvenient being away on business. We were offered an electric heater on the second night only to find this didn't work after a short time.Notwithstanding the above, it is an ok place and it did feel very friendly, the leisure centre is very good and it's a shame that we were just unlucky with the heating and hot water! If the heating and hot water were on and working, I'd say it would be a good place to stay. We didn't complain as such, but when I inquired at reception, there was no apology or commitment to help! It was a bit "computer says no"! Not sure that is acceptable when it was a £100 a night!

We have been members of Forest Hills gym for 6 months now. Really enjoying all aspects of it and so glad we joined. Great exercise area with plenty of equipment for all abilities. A wide choice of classes available to book on line. Lovely swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi area. The showers are always lovely and warm. The staff are always helpful and friendly. It?s great to sit in the hotel reception and enjoy a lovely coffee and catch up after your exercise session. Huge car park with plenty of spaces always available.

Forest Hills is a great restaurant / hotel / gym. The food in the restaurant is excellent!Walkability: Forest Hills is located within walking distance of the frodsham monument. The monument overlooks the entirety of frodsham and on clear days you will be able to see for miles.

Lovely location overlooking the river with walking paths nearby. Didn't get a chance to do any walking on this overnight trip, but seemed very popular given the number of cars parked near the park entrance in this rural enclave. The hotel has a lot of parking and is rather old fashioned architecturally, 1970's style?, but is clean and well maintained. Similarly the rooms are clean and well maintained if a little old fashioned in style. The leisure club was quite nice with sauna, steam room and pool. I didn't try the exercise options available. The pool is quite large, but as the hotel is popular with young families, if planning to use the pool for swimming lengths for exercise I would recommend booking a slot in the early morning as it quickly fills up with children. The pool is split into about 50% play area and two lanes for lengths. It got really crowded in the afternoon. The restaurant has an interesting menu and is not too expensive. The food was tasty if a little formulaic.Overall a nice hotel, plan to visit again later in the year.

Mostly good but the genius who specified sinks in the room smaller thant the kettle needs to shake their head. Filling from the bath is not ideal.

Went here a year ago and it was great. Room was great and the bathroom.Just been again with the kids for a few nights as a treat. Room had big holes in the carpet, bathroom from something in the 1960s and as it was a family room it was right next to a function room that was booming away on the Saturday night. And if you want service with a smile don't go here. This place is in need of some big update. On a plus side the cleaning team was very pleasant and cleaned the room well and even left the teddy's in the bed for the girls. They liked that and thought it was funny.

My family and I spent two nights here in room 93. All the positive impressions were spoiled by a large amount of dust on the headboards of the beds, on the pictures, the window sill, in the bedside tables and on the shelf, also on the lampshades and they should have been replaced. Internet is also weak. I didn?t order any service so that all this dust wouldn?t get on the beds. On the positive side, friendly staff, excellent mattresses on the beds, a large TV, a refrigerator, a good breakfast, a swimming pool and a huge parking area.

Nice food, quiet location, my suite was roomy, if a little tired. It looks like they are renovating the rooms, though, which is a good move. Good location for our office in Runcorn.UPDATEOur second visit, still good. Pleased to hear they plan to revamp the food menu.
