Lovely pub let down by diabolical service. I went in recently and there were 3 bar staff serving and 1 customer ahead of me. 2 of them spent 5 minutes on the one customer whilst the other just watched. I was the only other customer in there and it took nearly 10 minutes to get served. Unfortunately this is nothing new there - sort out your customer service!

Good selection on the menu. Staff were polite and friendly. Considering there were 9 of us the food was served promptly and was all very nice.

Usually it's ok here and the food is decent for the price. The beer garden and setting are good, hence 2 star.
The service is poor though.
I ordered a burger plus loaded fries, the fries came out about 10 minutes after the burger, at least the waitress apologised though.
My friend ordered a wrap with chips, it took 40 minutes to come out even though most of the place was empty at 2pm. We had to chase it up and 30 seconds later the waiter brought it out but didn't even acknowledge or say sorry that it had clearly been forgotten.
I paid for a dessert to be told later it wasn't available, and the one I wanted to switch it for was 20 pence more .The waitress said I'd have to go back and pay the difference at the bar to correct their stock! Luckily her manager saw sense and I didn't have to, but to even suggest it was laughable.
I'd let one of these these things slide and put it down to a bad moment, but all three plus other things isn't good enough. I won't be coming back.

Beer ok. Food awful. From the menu ordered Hunter?s chicken. Tiny chicken breast 2oz max and overcooked.

Disappointing experience ? lack of communication, poor service, rude staff.
We visited this pub looking forward to a relaxed Sunday roast with our young child. Upon arrival, we spoke to a member of staff about where to sit, but unfortunately weren?t informed that roast dinners were no longer available. We also weren't told that the ordering app wasn?t working. Then later found out food wait was over one hour.
We spent time trying to use the app and planning what roast dinners to order, only to be told at the bar that there were no roasts available and the app was down. It was disappointing, especially as we had a young child who needed to eat, and we had specifically come out for a Sunday roast.
Despite the inconvenience, we took more time to look through the menu and choose something else. With a young child we just really needed to eat. When we returned to order, a staff member (who we had already spoken to twice) shouted to a colleague, ?Is the wait still an hour?? I was shocked that no one had mentioned this earlier ? not when we first arrived, not during the previous two interactions.
I politely said it would have been helpful to be told sooner, especially as I had a young child with me. The staff member didn?t respond ? he just glared at me. It felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. I remained calm and respectful, even when I repeated that it would have been helpful to be told earlier for medical and practical reasons. My daughter has ADHD. Staff just not aware or caring that we were not communicated to.
Upset, I returned to our table and explained to my partner that we would need to leave due to the wait and the poor communication. He also tried to speak to the same staff member, who again offered no explanation or apology ? just the same cold glare. He seemed to be a manager, which made the lack of care and courtesy even more disappointing.
We left feeling frustrated, unheard, and frankly unwelcome. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this as a reminder that communication and basic courtesy go a long way ? especially when families with young children are involved. A simple explanation or heads-up at the beginning would have made all the difference.

Nice old building, Friday night food was sub-standard.
I would say the packet fish and chips from the co-op is better

Lovely pub, went for a meal with family after working up an appetite walking around nearby Delamere Forest. Pub was dog friendly, and food was delicious with a great range of dishes. Nice friendly staff.. Has own car park too.

This was a nice little pub, staff were friendly, the food was nice I had flatbread my partner had the mixed grill, portion sizes were good and it was nicely presented. The Latte was also very good. They also have a lovely outside area and a carpark at the back.

Food quality poor , steak undercooked despite asking for medium to well done it was awful poor cut of sirloin was fatty and tough . Poor service
