Having just moved to the area we decided to join the medical centre after our Doctors advising that we were no longer in their catchment area (gutted as Weavervale are an excellent surgery) we registered with the surgery and all seemed relatively easy, oh boy, how wrong could one be! NEVER have I ever dealt with such awkward, patronising, self opinionated, self absorbed and just damn right rude receptionist- Rita. I called the receptionist asking for help to order my medication and this is when I was introduced to the delightful Rita, I was advised that I could only order my prescription between 8-3 each day, when I said that I couldn?t use my phone during my working day she wasn?t the least bit interested. In fact her reply was to get a friend to do it!!! Whilst still in shock at her reply I was a little taken aback with her reply, I then asked could I speak to someone else who could help me and her answer was no! I then asked her what could I do as I thought she would have come up with an ideas, nope, not interested, I could drop dead for all she cared and the best of it was she thought she was really helpful, her school of charm must have had really low standards. I put the phone down and then called back to book an appointment, yes, you guessed it the delightful Rita, you can only book an appointment online 8-3 so I pretty snookered really as I can?t use my phone at work during those times. Yep, Rita had all the helpful answers - NOT! I called my old doctors and spoke to their receptionist who was absolutely gob smacked when I told her how I?d been spoken to and dealt with. Rita is actually one of the rudest receptionist?s that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, I was so shocked that I felt my BP rising and I could have done with seeing a doctor as she made me feel quite sick with shock! Rita needs to find herself a new job where she?s not customer facing as she?s as helpful as wet fart in a silent room! Thanks for such an awful first impression we will find ourselves a decent doctors with nice receptionists who actually do their job!

Almost impossible to get any help

You?d think with all the online triage forms you have to fill out now that there would be more availability for appointments and getting through on phones lines however it?s quite the opposite. It took me three weeks to have a blood test! T-h-r-e-e w-e-e-k-s.I?m also fed up with receiving texts about ?staff training?. I think Holmes chapel health center needs to run more like a business rather than the staff acting like it?s a volunteer job. It never seems like there is an urgency or a desire to be there from the staff either.Be a great episode for undercover boss to feature.

Reception staff appear to be genuinely focused on frustrating and antagonising patients to such a degree that when they get upset, they can achieve their one objective- of pointing out the ?zero tolerance ? policy!!!We get it, honestly this is not a new concept! I personally have a zero tolerance of front line health centre staff who simply do not have the skills and attributes required for the job of receptionist. Angela in particular has a completely unacceptable attitude towards patients who for all she knows may have recently received a terminal diagnosis. I was extremely unwell when attending today. Surely the minimum requirement when dealing with people who are clearly unwell and potentially vulnerable is a modicum of empathy?Sadly Angela displays all the characteristics of a sulky teenager determined to get a reaction from a weary parent, prepared to apply any tactic - eye rolling, sarcasm, defensiveness, shrugging, refusing to listen to or answer the simplest question. Zero empathy, abrasive manner, passive aggressive and joyful in her quest, if it wasn?t so tragic to see a middle aged woman behaving in this way it would almost be funny. Not funny for me today as I am suffering with chronic diarrhoea and simply wanted to drop off a sample pot.Twenty minutes wait at the desk later and now desperate to get to a private toilet, but knowing if I left I would be unable to get back before the 3pm deadline, the receptionist on duty (fully aware of my unfortunate circumstances) was still arguing with the only person in front of me about her blood tests. This patient had kindly offered to wait while the receptionist took my sample from me, but for some bizarre reason this offer was refused on my behalf by the receptionist?! I was finally faced with Angela. I left in tears.

Terrible. Medical response from the GP via txt message seems to be the norm now

The most highly trained health centre in the world.Getting used to the weekly texts saying the health centre will be closed for staff trainingOh if only that was true, it surely doesn't seem to be the case here, more like the centre will be closed because we don't have the staff.Training should be staggered. So as to keep a functional dept.A health centre with a local council mentality! This is clearly a poorly managed health centre!

This is the most abominable general practice I have encountered in 65 years. The lead partner Dr Tate is an ignorant, pejorative, patronising, incompetent individual. He has no respect for his patients. His attitude is probably responsible for the high turnover of salaried GPs. I have recorded a list of his offences over a 7 year period and am reporting this to the GMC. It is a great privilege to be a medical practitioner. They have a duty to give their patients the utmost respect as patients trust their health and possibly their lives to them. This practice has the opposite view - patients must afford them the greatest respect, even if the practitioner is incompetent. They are pompous, condescending and only concerned with their own status. Thry have nor provided my family with proper care. Patients will respect medical practitioners if they are competent. If you are new to the area I recommend you register with another practice. The best one in the region is Wilmslow Health Centre. I moved to this practice 3 months ago. The care is outstanding. I wish there was an option for me to give zero stars to holmes chapel health centre. I believe they are dangerous.

Impossible to contact anyone. We have serious concerns about our aged mother's mental health, and unfortunately for her, she is registered with Holmes Chapel Health Center. We have tried to call a number of times but didn't get through, we have sent multiple emails but no reply. At this point, it appears that our only option is to drive there (a 6 hour round trip from here) and doorstep them. It was the same when my father was ill. He could not get an appointment for months. Unfortunately, by the time anyone got to see Dad and referred him to a specialist, it was too late and he died a few weeks later. They are really letting the community down. A complete disgrace to the NHS.

Frankly if I could register elsewhere I would. Continually messing up prescriptions, I know of a least one case which is being investigated for possible malpractice and I suspect it is just the tip of the iceberg, I don't feel safe and neither does my wife.

Pharmacy is hell after years of monthly arguments with pharmacy staff to obtain medication prescribed by GP I have gone elsewhere boy what a difference I now get what is prescribed with no problems. GP?s are good but avoid the pharmacy it?s a nightmare.

The pharmacy department needs an overhaul. Repeat prescriptions are never ready when they're supposed to be. Always told there will be a wait of 30mins. This has happened now for the last 5 months, so I don't believe it's anything to do with the 'computer system'.

Absolutely shocking service. Nobody ever answers the phone when you ring at 8am and keep trying for 40 mins. then if you do ever get through all the appointments are suddenly full ? Dont know how when nobody answers though. Absolutely useless system
