Haven't been in a long time but thought we would give it a try again. Very nice christmas decorations. Very cold while waiting for our food certainly not cosy. Food was piping hot and plentiful though only one veg only and that was peas. Would I return maybe in the warmer weather .

We visited The Railway Inn this evening for the first time.
The food was lovely and big portions. We all enjoyed the food and came away very full.
However, the service and staff we're terrible. First of all, when we arrived we asked to see the cocktail menu as on the website it stated they did cocktails. The lady said they did not do these and when I said we saw it on website, she went and checked at the bar and said they did not do them.
Once our starters started to come out, we only got our cheesy garlic bread and we were waiting for a share starter. We finished the garlic bread and it still hadn't arrived so we went to ask them. They had completely messed it up and some how it was put on as a main. This then put a rush on eating as the main was ready whilst the starter came out.
The staff did not seem to know what to do and seemed very rude.
Let's just say, when we were there it was dead, so I can't even imagine what the service would be like if they had more customers.
We were very disappointed with our experience due to the service which is a shame as the food was good.

We only had a bowl of chips to fill a gap before our tea! (Expecting the usual portion in a small dish). We're on a narrowboat and tea was already prepared. Will be eating a lot later than planned?. Fab homemade chips! The full portion filled the dish to the sides!
