We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel was nice and convenient for visiting the zoo. However, what really made the stay great was Mat (deputy manager of the restaurant). Who was absolutely brilliant and made sure that we felt welcome, had everything we needed and was really thoughtfil when it came to our children. Thank you Mat.

Reception excellent especially Matt (a sense of humour is key ?)
Room was comfortable, older room, maybe it will be refurbed at some point. Car park and pathway to reception, I can never understand why companies do not make sure that the first thing a customer sees is clean,tidy and looking like someone thinks about first impressions... Car park was extremely untidy, rubbish strewn everywhere... The only other thing I find extremely frustrating is customer's that think smoking weed near the reception entrance is ok....

Comically understaffed. Poor staff members running from reception to restaurant and bar service. 4 staff in total I could see running a 300 guest plus hotel. Good luck trying to get served in the bar. I gave up. Rooms on ground floor not fit for a hotel as incredibly NOISY. Banging, crashing, heavy footsteps from above, conversations until after midnight. Then started again at 5. Shower had terrible water pressure. I?ve given two stars not one because the breakfast was reasonable and the staff are nice. The problem lies with Premier Inn senior management brutally cutting costs with skeletal staff. Another Brexit bonus to enjoy. Not worth the £122 I paid for the night.

My family and I had an excellent 2 day stay, made more so by the fantastic staff, in particular Matt, he was just fantastic, made my kids laugh, remembered everything we told him and he was definitely the reason we gave 5 stars! You have a gem there PI, don't lose him!

This review is for two members of staff that made my stay worth every penny and more.
Me and my partner stayed for two nights and received the best service we have had in any previous hotel we have stayed at.
Matt who greeted us at check-in was everything you would want in an employee?
He was well mannered, had a smile on his face and made you feel welcome.
During are stay he went above and beyond to cater not only to us but everyone else staying in the hotel.
Nothing was to much for him and at one point I had to ask if he had a twin working. Matt was everywhere from greeting you, serving you your meal and drinks, putting out fresh bedding even carrying luggage to people?s rooms.
If you ever stay here I hope that you meet this gentleman he will make your stay as best as he can to his capabilities.
Thank you Matt you are a credit to this company.
Jane I believe took over from Matt as night staff. I did not have many encounters with her as it was late, but what short encounters I did I couldn?t ask for more. Her welcoming smile and how professional she dealt with an issue I had one night was incredible. She took the time out of her shift to speak and listen to me and do everything she could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I can?t say much more about Jane but I believe if I had met her working in the day I would have more to say and she would have excelled like Matt did.
I thank you both and I do hope your company read this review and know what an asset you are to them.

Absolutely lovely. Every member of staff we encountered was happy and smiley from housekeeping to breakfast staff. My particular favourite was the lady on reception both when we checked in and checked out, that woman deserves a medal for how absolutely gorgeous and genuine she is. Would 100% recommend and hope I get to stay there again in future

It's a Premier Inn, so you know what you're getting. As with other reviews, you may need to wait a bit for food, but the service is good aa is the food. Plenty of free parking. If heading into the City, get the 1 / 1X bus from outside the garden centre.
