Very clean rooms but BEWARE Popcorn bar/club underneath my 1st floor room plays very loud music until 2am.Judging by numerous previous reviews Travelodge are aware but obviously don't care.

Excellent central location overlooking the Roman Amphitheatre. Good rooms and friendly staff, although it is clearly understaffed as no one was available at reception. Nearby discounted parking at a multistory and the only downside are nearby late night bars, but it's central location makes this inevitable. Overall a clean, cheap and comfortable hotel providing affordable access to a lovely historic city.

The hotel could have so much going for it with a little more care. The bathroom door had no lock on it though and the window did not open.History lovers will appreciate the fact that it overlooks the Roman Amphitheatre. It is close to the city centre with its magnificent cathedral. Our holiday was ruined by the sound of music emanating from the nightclub the hotel was built over. One may expect to be disturbed by such things in the city centre until late evening at weekends. To have loud music until 2:30 am every night bar one is too much though.

Do not book rooms opposite Bonobos nightclub or above Popcorn nightclub (yes the place is surrounded by them!) otherwise you'll be awake till 2 am even if using earplugs. Staff v apologetic and we were able to move rooms but this meant quite a lot of hanging about till that was sorted. Were promised the quietest room only to find mysterious tapping. Discovered they'd put us right over Riley's Sports Bar - pool, snooker, darts, table footy hence the loud tapping noise. Closed at 12 am thank God. Avoid rooms 224 and 113 or maybe all of them! Def not staying here again.Any chance of reimbursement for a thoroughly unpleasant experience?Rooms: Nice beds

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!This hotel is such a shame, its in a great location, the room was clean and in the day it suited our needs. But as many other reviews have said, there is a nightclub downstairs that plays music at an incredibly high volume until 2AM. We were in room 124 and I was able to use the app Shazam while in bed to tell me what song they were currently playing. I so wished we had looked at reviews before booking this hotel. The windows don't open. There never seems to be any staff at reception when we come in the building.

It's loud and very basic. Better look elsewhere. I won't be coming back to this Travelodge.Rooms: The room was basic, even the "Plus" room at the top floorWalkability: Very close to pretty much everything around Chester city centreFood & drinks: No Travelodge cooked breakfast on siteNoteworthy details: It's very loud, being right next door to Popcorn. Did I say how loud it is?

The noise from the night club below was extremely loud, no sleep till 3am..We managed to move room for our 2nd night without any further problems.Rooms: Room was as expected, but certain rooms are right above a nightclub and the noise is loud, very loud.

The bathroom needed a clean including the shower curtain and the surrounding area. It was quite noisy from the nightclub downstairs. We would not stay in this Travelodge again.Walkability: The hotel was close to the attractions in Chester.
