As soon as you walk through the door you are made to feel welcome. Every single member of staff couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The room was spacious, bed comfy, and shower hot. The food in the restaurant was to die for, everything was freshly cooked, piping hot and tasted amazing. Safe parking less 100mtrs from the front door. Beautifully decorated throughout.

Beautiful refurb in main area, done in good taste. Retro, modern.
Upstairs, the rooms need it now, please.
Heated towel rail not working. Carpets need a deep clean, skirtings etc.
Bathroom in need of refurbishment.
Bar food in the evening needs improvement.
Staff are absolutely wonderful, kind and helpful.

Jason, at the bar, is a wonderful host. All the bar staff are to be honest.
Felt homely with an open fire.
I was on my own, enjoyed the peace so I could write.
Never felt lonely.
Access to transport is perfect.
Rooms: Perfect size, lovely actually. Need refurb. Deep clean. Bathrooms need complete renovation.

Tried to change the date of booking 8 days before the booking date as a family member couldn?t go. Most unhelpful miserable staff I?ve come across. Pedro. Was a Christmas gift. Management decided we couldn?t change the date purely down to their own decision. Absolute jobs worths. Not hard to just change a booking date is it. Highly wouldn?t recommend this place.

Got to be the best hotel in Chester. The interior is absolutely stunning. The hotel is filled with beautiful statues and stunning decor. The staff are wonderful and so friendly. If you are coming to Chester this is the hotel to stay in!
Rooms: The rooms are all themed! We have stayed in the Kings section twice now and it?s beautiful. Each level is dedicated to different countries past kings e.g level 2 is Chinese kings & level 3 is English Kings. Then each room is dedicated to a King where you can find grand photos and descriptions about them. Excellent for history fans!!
Nearby activities: The hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the centre of Chester. Also the train station is right outside and close by to the bus station.

Great location just outside of the train station. The room is spacious and well maintained. There is a decent lounge area and a bar on the ground floor so very handy to grab a drink or two.

Hotel, good enough but spoilt after parking fine issued! Paid £17 for parking overnight but fined £100 despite tickets. Don?t go and risk this scrupulous parking company that the hotel allows to rip it?s guests off!

Stylish hotel, still exudes class from the past. Finding your rooms can be a challenge, it is a maze, due to various renovations and extensions. The rooms are slightly dated.
Rooms: Neat rooms, could be modernized.
Nearby activities: Lots to see within walking distance. Train station opposite. Taxi rank nearby.
Safety: Safe.
Walkability: Everything close by.
Food and drinks: Service fine.
Noteworthy details: Hotel exudes royal history with paintings, etc.

This is a great hotel. Large comfortable rooms.Our room had a large bath & a shower.Comfy bed.Tea & Coffee provided.The breakfast was first class.Self service but,everything you could possibly want.The only problem we found was, the queues for drinks, which were quite long.Close to the town centre.

Please read before booking.
Pros - Nice Lobby and Bar area.
Cons - The rooms are so ancient and furniture is tatty, I stayed here for 2 nights and was so embarrassed when I stepped into my room. I actually thought I was in the wrong hotel when I went to my room as the lobby and bar is modern? Nothing like the rooms on booking.com. Even my nan has a newer TV than the ones provided in the rooms.
We went round Chester for the day and returned to one of our room doors being left wide open with the master key in the room, while the cleaner was somewhere else. (Why are you cleaning rooms at 4pm?) The cleaner also didn?t even clean one of our rooms, all she did was change the toilet paper. And soap in the room was empty on arrival and didn?t replenish. (We had soap from home)
We also got locked out of our room in our stay which was inconvenient.
No plugs near the bed for charging phones.
Rust and bolts missing in the bathroom.
Loud music till half 12, understandable it?s Christmas period but this added to the list.
I?d advise anyone to stay somewhere else as we won?t be returning. The owners need to have a hard look at them selves and get a grip of some of the staff.

Rooms: Modern and comfortable, there seems to be a good selection to choose from.
Nearby activities: 15 minutes walk from the centre of Chester?s shopping area. If you are visiting the Cathedral, Race course or the Christmas Markets, it?s a very convenient hotel to base your Chester trip from.

What a beautiful hotel, that?s got a hidden gem around every corner.
It?s opposite Chester train station and within a short walk to the city centre.
All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the interior design is high end and well thought out and planned.
Throughout the hotel are museum pieces with information and the garden within the grounds is beautiful and quirky.
The bar is very big and the chairs and decor is stylish and comfortable and getting served is easy.
The only issue with our room, was the tv was mounted on a bracket, that didn?t rotate towards the bed, so you had to watch it side on, which was a bit odd.
Such a great find in Chester and we?ll definitely be coming back.

Attended the Christmas party night. Brilliant event. The service, food and atmosphere were really good. They catered to allergies very well. We all had a wonderful night. Thank you!
