Think Twice Before Choosing This University as an International Student
As an international student from Asia, I feel it?s important to share my experience for anyone considering this university. Honestly, if you?re looking for real academic support and fair treatment, especially during tough times, this might not be the right place.
Unlike other universities in the UK that offer second chances, academic support, and even CAS extensions when things go wrong (like failing a dissertation), this university offers none of that. There?s no real opportunity to improve or continue your studies ? they just expect you to leave. No support, no flexibility.
This has a huge impact, especially if you?re hoping to apply for a Post-Study Work Visa. Without their support, many of us are forced to go back home without completing our goals.
I?m sharing this because I don?t want others to go through the same stress and disappointment. There are other universities that truly care about international students and want them to succeed. Please do your research and think carefully before making a decision.

I had a terrible experience at what I consider the worst university in the UK. As an international student, I believe I intentionally failed on my dissertation and was denied the opportunity to resubmit. The resubmission date was set after my student visa's expiration, preventing me from applying for a Post-Study Work visa and forcing me to return to my home country. The immense stress, pressure, and anxiety I endured throughout my academic journey were overwhelming. I was repeatedly failed in all my subjects, requiring me to rewrite assignments three times. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disheartening. It was always my dream to earn a postgraduate degree from the UK, so I chose this university carefully. However, they shattered my dreams instead of helping me achieve my goal.

Studying at the University of Chester has been a truly rewarding experience. The lecturers are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely supportive, always willing to go the extra mile to help students succeed. The campus has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, making it easy to feel at home from day one. The facilities are well-equipped, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities, which really enrich the student experience. What stands out most is the sense of community?everyone, from staff to students, is approachable and supportive. It is a fantastic place to learn, grow, and prepare for the future.

If you are an international student, particularly from Asian countries, I strongly advise against choosing this university. They appear to intentionally fail international students and do not provide opportunities for improvement or second chances, unlike other reputed universities. This lack of support, especially in challenging situations like failing a dissertation, may force you to return to your home country without the opportunity to apply for a Post-Study Work Visa. If you want to build a career and achieve your goals, it would be better to consider other universities that genuinely support their international students.
Most of the other universities are providing all the support and CAS extension for the students support but not here.
I think this may be a helpful information for all the international students who are planning to come here for better education.

Dreadful university academic appeals is a joke. I?d stay well well away from this university if you want to study here go somewhere else you?ll be best off. Assignments and exams have nothing to do with the modules they teach you nor do they care about your wellbeing!!!

The University of Chester is a fantastic place to study, ranking among the top 50 universities in the UK. The campus is set in the beautiful, historic city of Chester, which adds a unique charm and inspiring atmosphere for international students like us, Queens park campus being the best in my opinion. The university's courses are well-structured, with teaching methods that are engaging and tailored to the needs of each subject. The faculty are knowledgeable and supportive, ensuring students have a rewarding and enriching experience. Overall, it's an excellent choice for anyone looking for quality education in a vibrant and scenic location.

The campus at the University of Chester has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It?s a mix of modern buildings and historic architecture, which gives it a unique charm. The main campus is compact, making it easy to get around, and there are plenty of green spaces for students to relax in between classes. The libraries and study areas are quiet and well-equipped, perfect for focused work. There?s a strong sense of belonging, and it?s easy to meet new people, especially with the many clubs and societies available.
Overall, the campus is a comfortable and supportive environment to study and socialize in.
