Historic pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Perfect place to visit to soak up the history of Chester. Dog friendly. Both times we visited we were asked if the dog needed water.

A haunting experience! The bar staff were great, it was very dark, there was a classic portrait of Henry VIII on the wall by our table.

Wasn't familiar with Chester tbh we stayed at The Travelodge and went for a wander ending up in this absolute gem of an Olde worldy pub we stayed right until we we're the last 2 there lovely ambience and we bumped into colleague's from work.Food & drinks: Great choice of beers
