Always a pleasure to visit HMV... The staff are always friendly and helpful when needed. Great selection of vinyl and CDs, plus lots of other interesting stuff such as t shirts, artwork, turntables etc...Highly recommended.

This has to be the worst HMV store in terms of pop culture branding. When you have 3 NECA figures consisting of ET, ET and ET, which haven't been sold for years (not months), its time to start revaluating your stock. As much as they are good at producing cds and vinyl, along with blu-ray and dvds (we'll brush 4K Ultra under the carpet) as originally intended, I do think that they need to consider going back to their roots and leave the pop culture collectors market to people in the know - I'm no fan of Manga, but I do know some people who can flog it, like a dead horse...and HMV isn't one of those people. Its times like these, that HMV needs to reflect on its past and consider going back to its historical roots. I mean...you sell vinyl (minus the gramaphone) and you cant get much more historical than that.

Pretty much the only place to buy new CDs and DVDs in Chester these days, and even then the choice is rapidly dwindling, the space given over to books, games, anime and t-shirts.
Other shops do sell mostly vinyl if that's your preference.
Still a very good shop if your choice is mainstream. Great central town location and easy to find.

Nicest HMV Location I have ever visited! To add this location has two floors which I found to be amazing you have merchandise DVDs/Blurays On First Floor as you walk in but if you go down the steps downstairs you have a full floor dedicated to Music CDS/Vinyls a section dedicated to the must have music which I also found was fantastic and haven't seen this before? Proper friendly staff had a awesome conversation with both gentlemen will definitely return again!

HMV is really now one of the only places to browse and buy physical media on the high street. In an age where the mainstream is about streaming services, it's great to browse for music on cd and LP. I've found the staff helpful and knowledgeable.
