Recently, my partner?s car broke down due to an issue with the gear linkage, and we also had a front right daylight bulb that was out, so we decided to book a full service with HiQ in Hoole, hoping to address both the gear linkage fault and the daylight bulb at the same time.
My girlfriend made the booking, and mentioned the gear linkage issue and the faulty daylight bulb. We were reassured that both problems could be resolved during the service.
I later picked the car up on her behalf and paid the balance. However, I was expecting to receive some kind of report or, at the very least, a brief conversation about what was done during the service, any issues they found, and the general condition of the car. Instead, after paying, the staff member on the desk immediately took a phone call with another client.
After waiting about 10 minutes for the call to finish, I asked if the problems had been addressed. The staff member kindly fetched one of the mechanics, who, rather reluctantly, informed me that I would need to purchase a part online and bring it back when they had availability. No mention was made of the daylight bulb, and I left feeling unsure about what to do, as this was the first time I?d booked a service after buying our first car.
We ended up purchasing the part online and had a friend fit it, but the daylight issue remained unresolved.
Since then, I?ve taken my new car to another service center in Chester, where I received a full service for £100 less that of HiQ. This included a four-page itemised breakdown of everything checked, along with a detailed discussion with the mechanic about the car?s condition, future maintenance, and a quote for additional work. I even got an appointment the next day.
It?s taken me a couple of months to write this review, as I initially thought this was standard practice. However, it?s clear that it wasn?t. I have no proof that any service was actually carried out beyond the card machine receipt.
The staff were friendly, and given HiQ's overwhelmingly positive reviews, I?m inclined to think this was just an ?off day.? The team seemed stressed and busy. However, based on my experience, I can only rate it 2/5. The staff were kind, but the service and overall experience was really quite poor.

Have used before and have found good, however my last experience was not one I will repeat. Ladies if you want a misogynistic attitude and to be spoken to rudely then go here. Poor communication and below par service in my opinion.
