We went here after the zoo on Friday, read the reviews, including the most recent one and decided I needed to try it. Deserves all the awards it has, perfect fish and chips, best I?ve had for a while, also spoke to the daughter and son of the owners, a credit to them, friendly and hard working. This will become part of our visit to the zoo in future, wish I?d found it years ago! Mark (can?t change the wife?s name on the review!)

Have been going here occasionally since it first opened. The fish and chips are usually good, for Chester. Ordered Haddock and Chips tonight and the chips were undercooked, and the Signature Haddock appeared to be 2 small separate bits of fish. Overall the taste was really poor - so took it back in the box and I tried to discreetly tell the staff that it was not good. Rather than offer a replacement or refund the attitude was to reject my comments. The anemic chips were dismissed as the variety, and the fish was shrugged off with no explanation.
I put the fish and chips in the bin in the shop and walked out - they were not edible.
2 stars for food, but 1 star for service. For the sake of providing me with a fresh scoop of chips and/or a new fish, this review could have been avoided and therefore tells you everything about how they view their customers.

Excellent Fish & Chips.... We came all the way from North Wales as this chippy had been highly recommended to us ? curry sauce & peas were lovely too.

Without knowing the area, we searched online for gluten free fish and chips. To our surprise, the food was AMAZING! My teens even said that the extra few minutes drive was totally worth it and the food exceeded their expectations by far. Can't say enough praise!

Very disappointed today. I've been a big fan in the past, but the quality this evening was very poor. Chips were hard and under cooked, the fish was OK, but the batter was soggy. Must do better !

In the area to attend a wedding. There was a private party going on at the pub where I was staying (and had hoped to dine at). Instead, I did a Google search for fish & chips shops in the vicinity. Weston Grove was about 4-5 miles away, but it had the best ratings, so I headed there. It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Service was prompt, polite and pretty quick. The staff even found me a proper wooden fork, when I mentioned that I'd be smuggling the meal into my hotel room!
Back at base, I was pleased to find the food still piping hot. The chips were soft & delicious, like the chip shop chips of my childhood. The Signature cod was perfectly cooked and had extraordinary batter - light, airy, crispy and unlike any I've sampled before. The curry sauce was a revelation - rich, almost creamy in texture & darker in colour than the watery, lumpy, yellowish stuff usually served up.
At £12.60, it was a tad more than I pay for the equivalent at home in Birmingham, but I don't begrudge paying for quality food from an award-winning chippy. Would definitely visit again, if in the area and can highly recommend.

Tried here and it didn?t disappoint
Liked how you could see which trawler the fish had come from and which farm the potatoes had come from too.
Food was top notch best fish and chips I?ve had in Chester !

Simply delicious, we travelled 40 miles to try their food and we were not disappointed 1 bit.
Worth every inch.
We'll definitely be back again.
5 stars simply not enough for this place.

We drove from Little Stanney to Weston Grove well worth the drive.
We ordered Haddock and chips it was cooked fresh the batter was golden and crispy and the chips were lovely too.
We can highly recommend.
The staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Will definitely be re visiting when we are back in the area.
