Love costco, the Executive membership is a great idea, you cant go wrong

Went today as i wanted to pick a special item that was designated for this store, became a member for this, as well as for the cheap diesel. The place was extremely busy on Saturday at 09.30, picked up the item and diesel, the queue was no problem, nothing different from a busy petrol station. Diesel was 1.329 per litre, prefer diesel at BP Bromborough which currently is £1.36, the diesel at Costco although classed as premium is not premium as per BP ultimate or shell V power, so the cost issue is not as good getting fuel from Costco. Also the prices were not that much different from the supermarkets. The food items were ok, mainly the pizza. The Caesar salad was full of lettuce and not much chicken,for almost £5, the price was deemed expensive. The hotdog at £1.50 with a refill was cheap. Cookie was good but expensive at £2.49. Foodwise not my cup of tea, really. On a second visit for the iphone17, found the staff extremely helpful and that 90 day return policy blew Currys out the water, this aspect made me revisit my intial star rating from 3 to 5. Traffic coming out wasn't that bad as well.

The Good:
Costco really shines when it comes to products and prices. The produce is usually good value (until it isn't - I always find trays of rotten stuff), the overall value is excellent, and the fuel savings alone make membership worthwhile. Their baked goods deserve a special mention?though I?m genuinely annoyed they seem to have stopped the big red velvet cake (it was divine, right up there with the carrot cake). And of course, let?s not forget the food court. Always a treat.
The Not-So-Good:
In my honest experience, the staff aren?t consistently the most attentive. Not all of them, but quite a few of the checkout clerks I?ve come across don?t exactly inspire confidence?it?s a bit like the camera flashing but not actually taking a picture. Not always friendly, either.
Another gripe: the restricted shopping hours for ?regular? members. Being held to the ?peasant hours? while executive members get more flexibility feels unnecessarily tiered, though I suppose that?s part of Costco?s business model.

Sunday 14th September all i wanted was 2 coffee from the food counter had to wait 30mins. I understand its busy on that day but that was ridiculous. Spoke to the servers 3 times and they just ignore you

Great service and choice.
I was double charged at the till but in all fairness next day I raised the issue and within 2 hours it was back in the account.
The manager called to apologise which I thought was very professional.

I went with my friends the other day to get my shopping, and while the experience was great I was rather disappointed when reaching the checkouts. We were served by Kelly who was quite possibly the rudest person I have ever been served by in retail.I understand that retail is not the best job in the world ( I have done it!) however there has to be a level of politeness. Kelly didn?t have this - She was short and cold through the whole transaction with us, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by going to her till. Seemed a shame being that Costco workers are normally lovely.Hopefully someone sees this and reports her properly. I haven?t as it was my first encounter and it might have been a bad day. However if it happens again I will be.
