WOW, just WOW.I called to book a room - sadly I didn't take the name of a person who answered the phone but I have never been treated like this in my entire life....I asked to book a room and the woman with a strong e.european accent said 'we do not work like a private hotel anymore' and hung up on me.Horrid. I hope she works for free because I wouldn't pay a dime for her 'work'.

Fantastic! Welcoming & friendly staff upon arrival and throughout our stay.Such a clean hotel.Rooms are modern, spacious and spotless.Food was delicious. Highly recommend!

A reasonable budget hotel used on Boxing Day so not usual service. Staff helpful however what was very disappointing was the fact that there were plenty of signs stating to inform them of dietary requirements and the vegan in our party was served an egg!! We were also unsure if the mushrooms were cooked in butter and whether the 'vegan' sausages were actually truly vegan or just vegetarian. In this day and age I would expect better understanding.

First time i've been there, next time we're going to Wisbech, thinking of staying there, very clean, quiet and the staff fell over themselves to accommodate our needs.

This is a really lovely place with friendly helpful staff. Great price for a glass of English Sparkling wine. The post code on the website for the car park brings you to the front of the hotel. The car park is behind so that needs to be changed. My only criticism and it can be changed.

A good and very well run hotel with exceptional staff and management. Friendly and helpful at check in and the girl at breakfast went out of her way to help us with an issue. Would highly recommend. Breakfast was good quality and there were plenty of options. Room was fine, except for the mattress which was a bit hard and lumpy for us unfortunately. We also had a nice view of the river.

have been staying at the White Lion Hotel with work once a week since August and I have to say it is one of my favourite hotels in Wisbech (I have tried a few) The I staff are so friendly and accommodating, always trying to help as I often arrive late. The rooms are all warm and homely with tea and coffee making facilities, good size TV plus the bath and shower facilities are fantastic. The food is freshly prepared hot and very tasty, I have tried most of the menu and cannot fault it at all. I leave early in the morning and they always offer a pack up as it is often before breakfast but if not they make the best hot coffee in the morning. Wisbech is a charming town and looks lovely at the moment decorated for Christmas. I can strongly recommend.

My wife booked room 102 for us 5 weeks in advance, she described the room as we had stayed in it on our last visit, and the only room with a bath and due to a medical condition unable to use a shower even noted the hotel sign was outside the window.The male who took the booking phoned her back to confirm we had that room, she booked the room for 3 nights but after a emergency visit to hospital she phoned to state the stay would be for 2 nights , she was told all was O.K On arrival we were told booking for 1 person only and surname and room number was different, After showing our dissatisfaction we were shown to room 104 on a higher floor (no lift) which was too hot and heating could not be altered, we were told we could be offered a different room the following day and would not be charged for the night in room 104 , next day we were shown to room 103 which was better but no bath also the TV had the subtitles stuck on and running 20 seconds behind the vocals on all channels, the manageress could not sort it so went to phone a expert she returned with a hotel guest who she met in the bar and as he fitted / repaired equipment in hospitals was sure he could sort it but alas he was defeated, the manageress was to come back with help but we have not seen her from that moment, I completed the questionnaire and left a A4 letter explaining my dissatisfaction and left my E Mail address for any queries concerning my complaints, No one has bothered to follow up so I am convinced they assume that due to getting decent reviews from persons who stay one or two nights (one time only) that their standards are good enough, the proof of success in the service industry is for customers to keep returning and so when a complaint is raised it must be checked out and rectified. We felt uncomfortable when staff and management were debating who's fault it was over the telephone, we were given the 1st night free of charge but I feel this was in no way compensation for a spoilt visit to relatives on this monumental occasion. So I would recommend caution

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, the hotel is comfortable with clean rooms and ample free on site parking providing VFM. The hotel is dated but from talking with the relatively new owners it is clear that they are aware of the issues and have already started to address the needs of the hotel. They have ambitions plans to update and develop the accommodation both in terms of quality and the volume of rooms on offer. All staff were extremely attentive and helpful - we wish them well with the delivery of their plans.
