Food greasy as deep fryer is their best friend, nothing says good food like a heart attack as a bonus feature very disappoining, staff were OK but not very attentive and not really bothered about the standards when I mentioned I bit into grease considering the price I was expecting a nice meal all I can say is if you want a nice meal don't bother!

Very disappointing overall. The decor of the pub is dated and a bit confusing (seems like it wanted to be an Indian or Thai restaurant at some point?). Sat down at a table where practically every placemat was dirty with little traces of previous people's food. We managed to order drinks (which featured a hilarious moment where the waitress could not remember a single cask ale they may or may not have served, and just kept repeating they've got lager), but then were completely ignored for ages when it came to ordering food. Had to stop someone for that and she looked mildly annoyed that she had to take our order.
Food came out suspiciously quickly after that, and it looked distinctly microwaved. The Sunday Roast special was okish - the meat was edible, but already covered in gravy, and only two potatoes each were served together with a bunch of unappealing steamed veg.
All in all, not worth the drive.

Sub Par boiled food all pre-made aand re-heated Sunday roast. No seasoning. Our server looked like she hated her life. The grounds are amazing. If you go for a pint, basic pub snacks and a few drinks on a really hot day, and take a dip in the river, maybe a 3.5/5
