So pleased this pub has re-opened, and they?ve done a fantastic job of the renovation!
The staff are wonderful and the food is fantastic. The roasts are delicious, the deserts are amazing and the rotisserie chicken is excellent!!
Couldn?t recommend this lovely pub enough!!

Had booked for lunch with friends but just wanted a light menu so unfortunately we did not stay. Very impressed with the renovation and will book for dinner as all plates we noted looked delicious. Very pleasant staff.

We had a Sunday roast, the lamb was quite fatty but the worst was the chicken which was pink. I did tell the waitress who said I?m sorry about that. That was it, we still paid full price for that meal.
There was four of us dining and we spent a considerable amount with drinks, meal and dessert.
Well I?m sorry but we definitely will not be returning.

Lovely environment and great menu choice. Food lost one star for me (lack of seasoning in the pizza and bread dough) but the rest of my party really enjoyed it.

My first visit since the renovation and opening. Really pleased with our meal. Good value. Great setting. Very popular.
Thank you to the staff that went out of their way to find us a table.

Tucked away in the picturesque village of Thorney, The Rose and Crown is a true hidden gem that effortlessly blends traditional charm with modern flair. From the moment you step inside, it?s clear this isn?t your average countryside pub?it?s an experience.
The interior is absolutely stunning. It strikes the perfect balance between rustic heritage and stylish elegance. Exposed wooden beams, vintage lighting, and carefully curated decor give it an inviting warmth, while modern touches and vibrant accents show real attention to detail. The ambiance is both cosy and contemporary, making it ideal for anything from a romantic dinner to a laid-back catch-up with friends.
The food is where The Rose and Crown really shines. The menu is a masterclass in quality and variety, offering classic British fare with a refined twist. Whether you?re tucking into a succulent steak, a beautifully presented fish dish, or a hearty vegetarian option, everything is cooked to perfection. Ingredients are clearly fresh and locally sourced, and the portions are generous without compromising on presentation. The desserts are equally impressive?don?t leave without trying the sticky toffee pudding!
Equally impressive is the outside space. The garden is beautifully maintained, offering a serene setting during warmer months. With plenty of seating, ambient lighting, and thoughtful landscaping, it's a perfect spot for al fresco dining or just relaxing with a drink in hand.
In short, The Rose and Crown in Thorney is everything a great pub should be?welcoming, stylish, and consistently excellent in both food and atmosphere. A must-visit.
