Unfortunately after years of being my go to chippy, today was the final time I'll visit. With price increases and reduced portions today I wanted beef and onion pie and chips twice the girl behind the counter was perfectly friendly informed me they only have 1 cooked the guy in the background just said no that ones sold never offered to cook any so with that I left went around the corner to another chippy who again didn't have any pies ready but said they'd get 2 on straight away for me within 10 minutes I had my order freshly cooked and larger portions and cheaper. Friair tucks could learn from their competitor.

So I just been and bought a portion of chips , pie and chips .just under £10
On getting the food home , I opened my chips and a 1/3 of them had black bits ,slug chew marks in them , I rang the chip shop ,fried tuck oposite the Coop in Whittlesey and said about my chips .
And was told to come and get another portion
So I struggled into my car again , went up ,wait ied for a parking space ,on entering the shop ,I handed over the chips
The person opened them said there is any a full portion here ,I said no ,I said a 1/3 of the portion had black bits ,that are uneatable
The serving person said ,well u only want a 1/3 back then ,,this is the fault of the farmer not us ,that?s how we get them , I suppose the pie chips portion was ok ,I said I don?t k ow ,I didn?t look , I can?t eat mine with black bits in them .
Not o I?m really sorry this has happened , here have another portion . Didn?t matter that I was solD uneatable food food ,had to get home . Then back up there again
Unfortunately I didn?t think to take a picture of the chips and I have given them back to the chip shop as proof .
The attitude was rude I won?t be recommending this establishment to any one again ,I def won?t be useing it again ,gone down hill drastically .

Esa to say I haven?t eaten the ones that was ok out of the first portion as cold , and after the confrontation at the shop , has put me of eating the replacement 1/3 ,p,us when leaving the serving woman was chuntling of the I think the owner about me and the chips I bought back , very rude ,no customer service ,

Was really busy today and they all were rushed off their feet. But the service was fantastic and they are always so polite and apologetic. Food was great and all cooked fresh. Thank you to you all. !!!

It was the biggest piece of fish I have ever seen. I would suggest you could easily have 1 piece of fish between 2 people. Also, get 1 portion of chips between 2 unless you are exceptionally hungry! Had to wait for chips to be cooked...

Thought I would try them again after over a 18 months of not going there, nothing has changed large chips @ £3,90 p were far to small compared to other places. Chips were soggy not crispy more like boiled. Fish was covered in loads of batter could hardly taste the fish. Sorry guys but you cannot make fish & chips. Send your people down to Toffs of Muswell Hill and learn how to make fish & chips

I don't know where all these negative reviews come from, maybe there's a vendetta against this place. We had some fish and chips from here tonight during the Christmas market, absolutely nothing wrong with our meals, portions were just right, if not slightly too big, I'm guessing if people are complaining about portions being too small maybe they should be thinking about their waistlines being too big.
I'm not saying it was the greatest fish and chips shop I've been to but it's certainly not as some on here have described it. Tonight was the first time we've got anything from here and I'd happily go back again.

My cod and chips today were unacceptable, the cod was very dry and greasy more batter than cod
The chips were hard. I think my portion was reheated from lunch time as I purchased them at 1640. a waste of £10

Terrible place my mate got me some food from there Friday night and the fish had bones in it big ones as well. Just shows laziness really, health hazard and dirty place , depressed workers. Btw paper boat hats do not stop hair getting in food, get better hats. Never ever again. If I could give under 0 stars I would.

Well I read a previous review & still decided when driving past it to check it out .My haddock was as I requested, lightly battered , good size & on point for quality & freshness,, chips were decent , my only thing stopping a 5 star is , few more chips needs to be added . Thanks .when I'm back in the area I will stop by

First time ever got hair on chip buttie however small still not good...and first time thrown in bin as food from here is superb.....hopefully next time better.
