Very impressed with St Ives Specsavers, with the test and my glasses although special lenses were ready for collection in less than a week. Recommend my husband and step mum and they have both been and were very satisfied aswell.

Once I passed 50, I noticed that I was struggling to focus when reading. Initially, I bought a set of cheap reading glasses from a supermarket. After making do with these for a while, I thought I ought to make an appointment and get a proper eye test. I was unemployed at the time, so could ill afford the cost, but I found a way to pay for a test and a pair of glasses. Despite booking, I had a fairly lengthy wait for the eye test. I ordered the recommended glasses and collected about a week later. Unfortunately, the standard of optometry was obviously questionable and the glasses didn't feel comfortable. I tried persisting, but this just resulted in eye strain, neck pain, excruciating headaches and sinus issues. Reverting back to weaker £8 Tesco reading glasses with a lower precription corrrected the issue and resolved all the symptoms. It's clearly apparent that the magnification prescribed by Specsavers was too high. I recent broke another set of cheap glasses, so tried the Specsavers ones over the weekend again until I could buy a new pair. This resulted in the return of all the symptoms and, whilst out shopping, I noticed my normally perfect distance vision was also blurry. Thoroughly disappointed, I'll inevitably go elsewhere in future.

Completely useless, disorganised and apathetic. Don't let them waste your time!!
Booked a contact lens trial before Xmas and they called to cancel it, stating that they needed to order in the lenses. Told I would be called when arrived. I waited two weeks with no update. After going into the store I was told they arrived but nobody called me.
After arranging a fitting appointment, I turned up at the time given by email and text. The assistant manager says I've missed my appointment because it was 45 prior to the communication given. No apology or acknowledgement of their cock up.
It's quite clear that they don't want anymore custom via lens trials. I won't be using them again and will recommend anyone against shopping with Specsavers.
(Scrivens around the corner were much more helpful and can do trials on the same day.)
