I held my uncle?s wake at The Jolly Sailor today.
I want to thank Stacey and her team for putting on a great spread and ensuring the whole event ran smoothly.
Stacey is a true professional, managing lots of admin niggles outside of mine and her control with such good grace. She was very responsive to my messages and accommodating of my requests (re. music and photos etc.)
Celebrating a life is such an import event and The Jolly Sailor gave my uncle the send off he deserved, doing us all proud.
My sincere, heart-felt thanks.

When my husband sadly died in late August, there was no need for discussion as to where to hold the Wake ??. obviously it was going to be The Jolly Sailor, Ramsey, David?s preferred drinking place for over 40 years. In his latter years he was even afforded his own seat next to the bar. If someone was in it when he arrived, they were politely requested to move. Stacey, the new Landlady, very thoughtfully placed a photograph of David, together with his pipe and cap, on the seat for the duration of the Wake.
Stacey was most helpful and accommodating and arranged a Wake far and beyond my hopes and expectations. On arrival there was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the food and presentation was exceptional - the quality, variety and amount. Many complimentary comments were made. She, and her wonderful staff kept the table topped up and glasses full unobtrusively and efficiently. In fact they were firstclass throughout.
I would wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend this lovely, atmospheric, friendly and welcoming establishment to anyone looking for a venue in which to hold their event. You would have to go a long way to better it.

Can't really be specific on atmosphere and price per head as was the gathering after my father in law's funeral. Pub was closed to the public. However, staff, service and buffet all great. Thanks to all that made it happen for

Recently had new landlords and they are doing a brilliant job many improvements made outside lots of seating friendly staff and dog friendly and car park round the back.
Parking: Car park out back as well as public parking to the front of pub
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly i believe they will be adding a small play area soon.
