We had a memorial lunch for a beloved friend yesterday at The George Inn yesterday and the food, atmosphere, service was incredible. The landlord Brian is fab and he catered for a vegan lunch for 21 of us easily (with notice of course) and the food that was served was incredible! Really beyond expectations and I can't recommend this gorgeous pub and people highly enough.

Recently moved to the village and couldn't love this pub more. Live music and parties in the summer, warm welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. Tried burger night this evening and our family were so impressed. The effort for weddings, parties and events doesn't go unnoticed

I am giving a bad review because of the landlady? (I think she is anyway) One warm afternoon on the way home from work me and my wife decided to stop at the George for a couple of cold drinks and went and sat by the river we had been there for about five minutes when the landlord came over and introduced himself to me and my wife and he seemed a pleasant guy telling us about all the functions he does on different days and his special hand made burgers which he seemed quite proud of which he told me he makes himself.so i asked him if they are spicy because I don?t like spicy food and he assured me that they are certainly were not spicy.So on another day we decided to stop again and try his burger and went and sat out the front of the pub but they were so so spicy that I had to drink my drink and my wife?s orange drink and it was still burning the spice levels was ridiculous she is herself is vegetarian so she obviously didn?t have the burgers..But I just put it down to a bad experience and left it at that.But several weeks later one rather hot afternoon we decided to stop again for a couple of cold drinks..we bought the drinks and went and sat outside the front of the pub and the chair I sat on collapsed the leg just folded resulting in my ripping my arm on the wall and me putting my back out so the barmaid came out she was perfectly fine and I said it?s okay please don?t worry about it then the landlord came out and he was okay as well and he then examined the other few chairs and decided they were were all about to fail and said I will replace them all so still no problems then the landlady the (Dragon) came out and by stealth she tried blaming me by saying people should not keep moving the chairs yes you read that right you shouldn?t move the chairs (I Am a 16 stone man so normal for a male) had she had not made this derogatory comment this review would not have happened

Wonderful rural pub. Always feel welcome, even though I only spend a few quid. Landlord Brian is a nice person and his homemade burgers on a Friday are out of this world.
Parking: Gravel car park, if full just park on the road - there are no restrictions

Friendly local pub that really feels like the heart of this small community. Burger night on a Friday is phenomenal. Full English breakfasts available on weekends. Good rotation of guest ales on tap. Tea & coffee available on request. Both front and rear bar are dog friendly. Often have a bouncy castle in the summer months.
