Stunning house in a large wonderful parkland setting with excellent pathways to meander the estate, gardens, childrens play area and to rest in the charming Orangery and Cafe. The house interior is exactly what you would expect - fabulous history. Access to the grounds are free as is the excellent ample new car park. A thrill for children and adults alike is the vast numbers of deer.

As a member of the National Trust, I have visited over 100 manor houses across the UK, and I like the look of this manor house. This is my favorite manor house. I've visited many times.

Had lovely breezy walk through Burghley House grounds, the deer were running about, lots of people walking with dogs and family and only 19 minutes walk to the George at Stamford for Xmas drink eve drink. Would have got 5 stars for Burghley but everything was completely closed down, toilets locked, no coffee available.

A stunning venue to photograph at, and perfect for a dream wedding. The staff could not have been more helpful and supportive throughout the day. It was an absolute pleasure to capture such a beautiful wedding day. www.Wedding-Photographer.org.uk

Although the house and Orangery restaurant were closed when we visited, many people were out for a walk on the sunniest day for a while. There's plenty of walks through old trees, and a herd of deer is often visible. It's possible to walk into the historic town of Stamford from any exit.It is a great day out at any time of year, though it is very busy in the warmer months. Parking is easily accessible and various events are held throughout the year. The Horse Trials are a very popular attraction

We came for the Burghley Horse Trials and it was, again, an amazing event. Burghley is an absolutely stunning venue and it?s a pleasure to spend time walking around the vast grounds. The course this year was immaculate and there were so many great places to watch from with multiple questions/jumps.I would thoroughly recommend booking tickets for next year if you haven?t been before. (For those that haven?t seen equestrian cross-country, I can only describe it as Horsie Moto-cross - it?s amazing to see what they can do!)

Went to xmas fair. Lots of stalls no big crowds so easy to see what was on sale. Disappointment was food. We went to the orangery expecting lunch as per website. But only had sandwiches cake and tea coffee available no lunches Had a turkey and cranberry panini.had to search for the turkey and cranberry was almost non existent. Friend had goat cheese tart. It was so small it was embarrassing. We were taking her for lunch after all.staff were efficient and friendly. Couldn't find any disabled toilets. There may have been some but were not found. Overall the fair itself was worth visiting.

great place to visit, entry and parking are free, the castle is open for visitors from March and closes in October, to enter the castle there is a fee of 15 pounds per person (infants are free), there is also a beautiful garden that is worth visiting. Taking a walk in the countryside around the castle is free, I recommend it for a picnic in the summer. For parents who bring children, there is a piggy bank in the garden, very cool for children, take wellies in winter, the grass tends to get very dirty with mud.

Always a pleasure but a particularly beautiful, frosty morning for a stroll with our trusty hound. Defo coming back for another slice of Christmas tray bake!!!

Visited the Christmas market with a friend. Paid £10 in advance for a ticket. The Christmas market was bigger than we expected and there were some lovely stalls, including the food court, but there were too many stalls selling the same things, eg candles. It would have been better to have more variety. The snow machine was a lovely touch! Would return to see the house and garden but wouldn't go a second time for the Christmas market.

Christmas market is poor. Far too over crowded and you can?t move for people. Queue 25 minutes (even though only 5 people in the queue) for a hot chocolate and just for a kick in the teeth it?s £5 a pop.
