We had my son?s 21st birthday party at Mattonis Saturday night, the food was fantastic, service excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. I Would like to thank Tina for making my sons birthday so special.

Poor all round really didn't try the food as it was so cold inside with no heating, barmaid didn't know how to make a cocktail unfortunately so was asking on the phone and even though the sign said 2for 1 I wasn't that day, she was nice and attentive though, toilets smell very badly and drink are very expensive I mean £6 odd for a can of guiness an 14 quid for a cocktail.. Dissapointed really

Me and my partner visited for Valentine?s Day and were so chuffed. Had an amazing time and amazing food, the decorations for valentines were such a sweet add to the atmosphere and the waitresses were amazing even offered to take pictures of me and my partner.

This is still a good restaurant and the food was, on the whole, good. But, not as good as it once used to be. Some dishes use cheaper ingredients. For example the salmon dish now has French fries rather than sautéed potatoes. The mozzarella starter dish has changed (less quantity and flavour). But overall, the food was ok and enjoyable.
Aside from the food, the seating is now very tired with many of the faux leather chairs being split which downgrades the dining experience.
The bar was very busy and subsequently very rowdy on our visit.
Service was acceptable if a little understaffed at times when it was fairly busy.
The background music was however, very annoying. The system has a fault which momentarily cuts the sound every few seconds.
With value for money being all the more important these days, despite the overall decent evening, we will likely go elsewhere for at least then next few meals out.

Had a lovely lunch today at Mattoni and will definitely be visiting again. The place was clean and the staff couldn't do enough for us!
I had the pizza, fries and salad deal for lunch and the portions were huge and super tasty! Thank you to the lovely staff for making this experience so enjoyable!
Dietary restrictions: They have a halal option!

Fabulous place to eat, although I didn't eat on this occasion... its the ONLY place in Peterborough I have found that does frozen strawberry daiquiri... so that's a massive 5 ? ?

The restaurant was empty, which was a big surprise as used to always be busy. I then realised it was different owners. The food was ok, the pizza was a bit doughy. My partner had the carbonara, was very creamy. I visited the toilets and they were not clean, desperately needed new toilet seats and no soap (pet hate of mine) The staff were lovely, couldn't fault the service, but sad to see the restaurant is not as good as it has been for many years previous. Won't be going back, sadly.

We went there first time since long time. I used to love the food there especially risotto. I bit disappointed they don't have it anymore buy I've ordered carbonara instead. Returning from Italian holidays we really hoped for some real flavour dishes but unfortunately they tasted nothing like in Italy. Carbonara tasteless, zero similarity to Italian's. No salt or pepper or parmezan offered to enhance the flavour. Husband also said his lasagnas very avarage.
The bar was quite full of drinkers so quite spoiled the daning atmosphere. Seatings need updating.
To be honest I remember Mattoni from few years before and it was pleasure to it although now I think we won't return any time soon.

Wonderful staff, courteous, friendly and polite even the chef came out and spoke to us which was lovely. The food was freshly made and piping hot and incredibly tasty. We pre-ordered for a party of 18 and everybody was happy with their food. Highly recommended
Vegetarian options: I didn't have a vegetarian choice but others did and enjoyed the food very much I believe they had vegetarian lasagnas
