The coffee was ok but not good. The Tiffin we had was below normal standards as it was a bit dry.

Friendly staff. A pot of English tea cost £2.70 when we visited on Saturday, July 13, 2024. We enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace/patio area in the garden.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available.

Needs to be bigger really, sold put of most of its food at 1pm. Wimpole halls a big place and the catering doesn't seem to be able to keep up with demand. Nice food though and staff nice

First class festive turkey lunch which for once was more interesting than the usual baked potatoes, sausage rolls or soup and for once not overpriced. Popularity of the place meant that the facility at times had inadequate seating. Side rooms didn't seem to be in use.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at one end of the café for wheelchair/pushchair access.

Jason and Michelle organised a wonderful lunch party for 16 friends to celebrate my husband?s birthday. They were perfect hosts, attentive but never intrusive. We had preordered from the varied menu and every dish was delicious and attractively presented. The in-house smoked trout was a real treat and the boeuf bourguignon so rich and tender. Winter fruit crumble with home made custard was very popular. Congratulations to Dan, their talented chef. We will return soon.

Returned to The Old Rectory which is now under new ownership. We had Sunday lunch and the menu provided a great variety but can really recommend a traditional roast beef. The portions plentiful and all cooked really well. The home made desserts excellent, certainly my red berry crumble with custard was really tasty. Jason and Michelle have made a terrific difference to the inside of the restaurant yet retaining a traditional character. They are most welcoming. The garden is adorned with Michelle's chicken wire sculptures showing her terrific creative talents. We will certainly be regulars and looking forward to the Christmas menu. Well done Jason and Michelle we can highly recommend your wonderful restaurant.

We have been here before and had a very pleasant lunch with no problems, however on our recent visit (23/08/2023) there was a long queue and not much food to choose from, also the outside eating area was plagued by wasps.

I recently had the pleasure of discovering The Old Rectory in Colesbourne, and it was an unforgettable experience. This restaurant has the antique charm of a Victorian building, combined with some beautiful modern sculptures, creating a unique ambiance. The tiered luncheon made with locally sourced ingredients was a true delight and the Library's antique ambiance and open fireplace created an intimate setting for our group. Definitely highly recommended and looking forward to a revisit

Lovely place. Host attentive Food dreadful. Firstly the simplest of baking on a cream tea, the scones were the height of Welsh cakes. Two together were still a flat small scone. Couldn?t be split to put cream and jam on. They had to go on top. They were dry and texture all wrong. Full of air bubbles. Frozen? Should have been kept in kitchen. As tea was supposedly made on site I find it needs saying that the macaroons appeared identical to those from discount supermarket. Colour combo shape and size. No real taste. Other tiny squares of unidentified desserts obviously from factory. Looked good but nothing tasty. Rissoles were factory made. The giveaway one was was hollow, no cheese and potato.filling , just outer coating. Crostini with fish was tough as old boot. Not offered refills on coffees or drinks . No decaff on tea or coffee. Luckily we were able to laugh at it all. However for others I?d say steer away. Spend the money elsewhere and enjoy it.

We visited this weekend just after a refurbishment carried out in June/July 2023 by the new owners. Really high quality job and feels very comfortable and the Library dining room is very funky. We had a Sunday Roast as we were staying in the area for a week. Superb is the best word to describe all courses, chef is very talented and cocktails are very moreish! Very much recommended to all.

A long queue waiting to order food, but fairly quickly delivered once it has been ordered by nice friendly staff. I suspect they are suffering, like a lot of businesses at the moment, by a lack of staff, as one of the tills wasn't open during their peak time. The food is really good, and although the outside terrace is nice, indoors it does feel a bit like a canteen.
