We were really impressed with the recent cider festival, it's one thing to have a few extra offers on, but these guys had a wall of still cider boxes, mostly local and this ran to three pages on a menu. A decent food truck on when we were there . Plenty of helpful staff on and it was busy by late afternoon. The team here clearly puts thought and effort into what they do so no hesitation in recommending this pub

This might be one of my new favourite pubs. It's a lovely charming village pub with a great garden. The selection of local beers and ciders are great and the food even better. make sure you try the scorched brie & tomato chutney ciabatta! (you can thank me later). The pub feels very welcoming and the owners are lovely and friendly.
Bonus they sell Saffron ice cream!

I only had a tea, but the cakes looked delicious. Dog friendly, a wonderful quiet pub to sit and read! Not busy on this Sunday early afternoon.

What a tremendous pub. Joe and Ella truly know their craft. Warm and inviting reception every time you walk in. Great knowledge of all their beers and selection of real ales, many locally sourced. There is always some lovely home made cakes and savouries with lots of GF options. Really cozy atmosphere. Oh, and some awesome cocktails with high quality spirts. Put this on your list of gems.

Great pub, Joe and Ella really do a superb job. Always friendly, always helpful. Great beer, delicious wines, lovely bar snacks, the most fantastic cakes! Cosy log fires, dog friendly. A great asset for a small village location. Highly recommend, pop in on your way past, you won't be disappointed!

This is the nicest pub I have ever visited. It is lovely inside, has a super, proper, landlord and landlady who know exactly how to do front of house, good service, good quality, and they are just so very welcoming. The best bit is they really know how to keep their beer. If you are a fan of cask ale you have got to visit this place. I have never had such consistently good beer served up to me, every time I go there. Always got new ales on (it's a free house), and they just know their beer. Nice garden, some parking on site, but plenty of off road round the corner, dog friendly, family friendly, and exactly what a village pub should be.
The only caveat is they have a limited selection of food snacks available, and they don't do a full sit down menu themselves. But like many pubs nowadays, they have regular food trucks visiting and occasional one off events.
But if its a proper 'pub' you're after, then you won't find any better.

The Black Horse continues to go from strength to strength, our infrequent visits (due to distance) are always special. Ella and Jo have problems with getting a chef but this does not stop them from putting on a varried menu of light but filling snacks.
