A disappointment this year. Food was reasonable, no Munich beers on tap & no Bavarian music to accelerate the atmosphere.
Will not hurry to book in the future.

Had a Sunday roast 29.09.24. Wasn't disappointed! Lovely food, friendly staff and a great looking venue. Added benefit is it has a beer shop and antiques shop. Easy to spend a few hours here. Highly recommend

This is my local friendly restaurant and the food and drink is good value for money for formal and informal occasions
Kid-friendliness: There is a soft play area for young children
Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on the level so there are no issues with wheelchair accessibility

This would be our third or fourth visit and the first where we?ve eaten, having just popped in for a pre- or post- antiques coffee previously. The last time we came in we noticed a Dog Menu. Our server that time was Wendy and she was very enthusiastic about being dog friendly and pointed us in the direction of the dog menu display at the end of the bar. We said we?d definitely bring our old dog Poppy. Which we did today!
Wendy was again our server today. She greeted us and as we were the first covers in allowed us to choose where we sat and immediately offered to get Poppy a bowl of water.
As a party of four plus canine we had breakfast today. As Poppy is toothless she couldn?t really have anything from the Dog Menu (which is mainly treat based) but Wendy said that they can easily do any breakfast item from the menu for her. So we added an additional sausage to the order!
As with every visit we were looked after wonderfully. There?s a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere here despite how vast the space is. The toilets are clean and fresh and there?s plenty of parking.
All the food was lovely, generous portions and nice and hot. Drinks as always were great.
Poppy approves and says she will be back to see Wendy soon.

The food and drinks were exceptional! The staff were incredibly accommodating of a difficult food intolerance and made the person feel accepted in this environment. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. 5 star service!

The nicest meal of the trip! Me and my husband both had the vegan nut roast which was one of the nicest nut roasts I've ever had. There were actually lots of nuts in it, rather than other nut roasts I've had elsewhere where they're more of a stuffing consistency which can be bland and dry. So it had a really nice nutty flavour to it, but was also creamy at the same time, so not dry at all. There was plenty of veg on the plate and the green beans in particular had a lot of flavour. The carrot and swede mash was also really tasty. The only small complaint I would have was that the gravy was a bit watery, but we were offered plenty of it so they weren't tight with anything. It was a lovely roast dinner, and at £12.95, really reasonable for a tasty good size portion. Service was quick, and staff friendly ?

Lovely Caeser salad, but other meals were disappointing. Menu is horribly laid out which made identifying gluten-free options impossible. This needs a radical overhaul to ensure it is legally compliant and customer-friendly. Restaurants must be led by the customer or they will not survive in this climate.
Service was courteous (all the ladies were charming) however bottled water only served at the table when I specifically asked for a jug of water; I thought this practice went out with the Ark!
Music was pleasant but the room itself felt like, well, a warehouse. Perhaps a lowered ceiling would add to the atmosphere, which was sadly lacking. The whole experience was a bit soulless.
Dietary restrictions: Menu is horribly laid out which made identifying gluten-free options impossible.

Tied in with a visit to the antiques centre due to the day's weather, we weren't really sure to expect.
Obviously a popular place with a mix of families and groups of friends already enjoying the bar and restaurant.
Wild menu of food and drink, all reasonable priced.
Attentive staff and good service all through a busy lunch sitting.
Food freshly prepared and delivered hot.
We will return

A wonderful venue with a great menu, great beers both on draught and bottled, amazing friendly staff and dog friendly too. Very much worth a visit if you?re in the area, and worth a good drive if you?re not
