Had a lovely steak with trimmings. We were greeted and treated warmly from the start. Calimari could have been a big bigger a portion. Steak and chips - medium rare- with peppercorn sauce, was a delight. Will go back again and try the desserts

I had my 30th birthday at the Chequers! We had live music and an amazing pizza buffet, private indoor and outdoor space, welcome drinks, private bar, decorations and with support from the amazing team at the Chequers, had the best night ever! All my guests were so happy and we all felt so well looked after. We were able to plan with the staff for months leading up to it and had lots of help and ideas!

6 of us went for a Sunday meal on 20/4/25 it was total rubbish, the meat was overcooked except for the turkey, vegetables were i am sure not fresh tasteless and seemed from frozen, the Yorkshire puddings and the roast potatoes were again well overcooked the only thing not overcooked was the thin oxo based gravy on top of this , the staff just were not interested only interested in getting their overpriced money sorry i hate bad reviews but this was a great disappointment for this familly get together.

Visited for lunch, wish we had gone to the chip shop opposite.
Despite it being sunny outside, the pub ws chilly.
The barman was very good, managing both the bar and kitchen -
We had two cokes, that arrived without ice or lemon - which is standard in every other pub.
Our meals took so long to arrive, I almost said we are leaving. When they arrived both meals were over done. I had chips that had been deep fried over and over again. They were so hard and lacked any potato; so I had to leave them. My husbands fish was deep fried and was more oil than fish and were served with the same burnt chips; the tartare sauce was nice!
At £16 for a main meal its just not good enough.

The Chequers at Cottenham is a true hidden gem :) a charming traditional village pub that offers a surprising and delightful twist: authentic Italian cuisine.
We started with the creamy spinach, truffle oil, and wild mushroom gnocchi?a rich and indulgent dish with perfectly cooked gnocchi. The earthy flavors of the mushrooms combined with the aromatic truffle oil made this a standout.
The confit duck leg was another highlight, cooked to perfection with tender, flavorful meat and crispy skin.
The Hunter?s chicken delivered a comforting mix of juicy chicken smothered in a delicious sauce.
The seabass was an absolute delight?crispy skin, tender flakes, and seasoned beautifully :P
And let?s not forget the pizzas! The freshly made, stone-baked crust and authentic Italian toppings make them irresistible. Whether you?re a fan of classic Margherita or something more adventurous, there?s a pizza for everyone.
If you're looking for a cozy spot with great vibes and amazing Italian dishes, The Chequers is definitely worth a visit!

Been there a few times, food is always spot on. Today we brought the kids along to try the pizza, kids were very happy with their pepperoni pizza and ham pizza, we think the pizzas here are like a rare gem, must try. Burgers are great too. Outside areas are a plus, nicely decorated and neat. Good free parking lot! ;

Pizza is great. Beer selection is pretty good and rotates. Could use more cider! Garden is nice to sit in.
Parking: A small car park at the back, bit of extra parking out the front. You can park on a side-street nearby if nothing?s available at the place.

The Chequers provided the catering after my mother-in-law's funeral and were excellent: helpful and responsive to requests, good value and excellent buffet. I always judge a buffet by the standard of its sausage rolls and these were excellent! Thanks to John, Luca and the team.

We attended this pub for a wedding party, the buffet were brilliant with lots of tasty food. No one left hungry as there was was plenty of food available! I took a photo of these beautiful grape vines which were all lit up in the garden.
