We are so lucky to live in Brampton with this GP surgery... from reception to nurses to GP's, these people are exceptional. Special thanks to Doctor Morteza Mirab, a GP who takes times and treats his patients with professionalism and care. He really cares. Thank you all!

The surgery albeit a good surgery is in my opinion in decline due to a couple of reception staff that really have no empathy for their patients. I understand that reception staff aren't medically qualified to help with my needs but empathy is a must and there needs to be training in this area URGENTLY. I won't go into details but I've been attacked verbally and aggressively by 2 members of staff today whilst trying hard to get my medication for a serious condition I have. If the staff knew how I felt and knew my medical history they wouldn't have responded in this manner. I'm currently in a bad way. Thankyou to the lovely manager of the reception staff whom was able to professionally come to my rescue. Thankyou.

Perhaps Brampton Surgery might review how it notifies patients of terminal illness? Our disappointing experience stems from my late wife attending the surgery to be notified she had cancer but unfortunately, despite my wife repeatedly presenting to practice Dr's with red flag cancer symptoms it was too late to act.The senior practice GP in question, decided not to inform my wife of her cancer's terminal prognosis on our visit, but did confirm the presence of the disease. Strangely, before leaving the surgery, the GP chose instead to pass a terminal illness expenses claim form to me. At the time, I did not know what it was or what it was for. On briefly opening the given form (DS 1500) I saw the hand written words 'palliative care' recorded. I closed the form. This was a massive shock, it meant to me there were no options. With no explanation given and no further information on what was happening from the GP we left the surgery. Clearly, the GP did not want my wife to see the form and with no guidance from the Dr. I made the decision not to tell my wife what was recorded or what she (the Dr) had done to her or to me. I did not sleep that night. The following day, we met with the oncologist and senior gastric nurse at the hospital. Both he and the nurse were shocked that my wife had not been informed of her prognosis, they were clearly aware of our GP meeting the previous day at Brampton surgery. I watched them brace before the dreadful news was given. My wife died 20 weeks later. After sometime had passed I wanted to understand why my wife was the only person in the oncologist's clinic that day who did not know she was terminally ill? Clearly, the responsibility and duty of candour lay with Brampton. However, there may have been reason(s) why they felt it was not appropriate to tell my wife, yet, saw fit to alert me to the devastation that was to come. I wanted to understand the rationale for what I considered on the face of it, poor treatment. The GP may have been having a really bad day and just couldn't bring herself to tell us? In which case I thought I might have received an explanation and apology. To my surprise, the Dr. denied it. Instead, she stated that I must have been mistaken due to the shocking nature of the news she claimed to have informed . Unfortunately for the Dr, the Oncologist recorded in his first letter to her, my wife's reaction of being told her terminal condition. On being challenged for her dishonesty and attempt at 'gas lighting', the GP then crafted a response to the effect of it then being an act of compassion to not tell my wife - in case a cure could have been found by the following day.' Not really a plausible explanation as It later transpired the Dr was in possession of a multi-disciplinary report from Addenbrookes detailing that the cancer was 'too far advanced for any treatment options'. The Dr would reasonably have known there was no chance, hence her passing the Terminal Illness expense claim form (DS1500).I was so concerned at the lack of candour, deliberate untruths and continued dishonesty from a senior Dr I referred the matter to the GMC and CQC for any action they may deem appropriate. Disappointing, but not surprisingly neither the practice, GMC nor CQC have any issues with dishonest conduct and the matter dismissed.I remain greatly concerned at the Dr's dishonesty, manipulation and lack of candour. Clearly, she has no intention of ever explaining to me why she refused to tell my wife her prognosis or why I found out she was terminally ill from an expenses claim form. This must also raise questions about the conduct of those who regulate this industry and are charged with protecting the welfare of patients. Sadly, from what I have witnessed they merely close ranks, which is a pity as patient confidence must suffer as a consequence of such behaviour. With such dreadful dishonesty by these Dr's and some serious irregularities in my wife's notes, to the practice's advantage I began investigating. This doctors is fabulous. The staff and doctors and nurses have so much care and attention and so so helpful. The receptionist today had such a horrible call. They do not deserve that treatment. They are excellent at their job and deserve respect.

This is probably one of the best surgeries in England. We've had all positive experiences with the staff and doctors at this office- especially Dr. Leonard she really takes her time and was very caring towards our little baby girl who is ill. As new (slightly nervous) parents, this goes a long way for us. Thank you!!

The service at this Surgery is exceptional, whenever I have called with a worry or a question, I?m always made to feel valued and always helped. I?m always surprised at how freely I can make an appointment at a convenient time and everyone is helpful. Thank you, needing to seek medical assistance isn?t always easy so nice when you feel supported.

Barely any availability for appointments. Told you will be referred and it never happens. Zero provision for appointments convenient to most workers (nothing after 4.40pm, nothing between 11.30 and 2.30pm). I?ve been with 5 or 6 different surgeries across the county. Worst one by a mile.
