We had a wonderful meal at The Swan, with wonderful views overlooking The Great Ouse. My fillet steak was cooked to perfection and the asparegus were done just right.The service was above and beyond, and the whole experience was quite delightful.Food & drinks: Our main reason for visiting the hotel was to have lunch with a view, and we weren't disappointed!

Read to the end?Service was excellent. The food?.they were trialling a new chef. Steaks were chewy and although cooked as requested, they arrived cold. My curry wouldn?t have fed a child. Paltry portion. The only other couple in the restaurant experienced the same issues. Management were fantastic; they only charged us for our drinks. A different chef will make all the difference.

I attended the swan on Christmas Day with my family & despite being short staffed, staff were exemplary. They couldn?t have done any more!.They remained friendly & professional throughout whilst being run off their feet.I had a winter cocktail which was Baileys?s expresso martini with was fantastic. The turkey and especially the duck was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely recommend and will be back for New Year?s Day lunch!

Me and my partner and our two Foster children arrived at 1.30pm for lunch wasn't busy took a member of staff over half an hour to ask with wanted drinks we said yes 4 large cokes another 10 minute wait then 2 came 5 minutes later the other 2 cokes arrived don't you have trays ?. 2.15pm are starters arrived pate average two bits of cold bread no butter . Another hour and half Christmas Dinner arrived Turkey which we all said wasn't very nice. Hard roasted carrots and sprouts which I cannot eat as had onions in with them they was informed at the time of booking. So I had a hard carrot Yorkshire puddings were OK . I couldn't have the turkey gravy as that contained onion . So the waiter brought me out gravy made from granules and was like water in colour so didn't use. Not at one time did any of the staff ask if we was OK thats part of hospitality. Me and my partner used to run pubs so hospitality and a welcome is important we got neither. As I said before the tables were not busy we arrived at 1.30pm booked and got out at 4pm the pudding didn't taste at all like bread and butter pudding no taste at all the rest of the party had chocolate more like Thornton chocolates. £75 per person wasn't cheap for the Christmas Dinner but it wasn't what we expected and the service and wait time not unacceptable in my opinion. This review is by me not by the lead booking person .

The cheater and I keep driving or riding past on the way to my parents anyway, we went there for lunch Saturday 30th July. We sat by the river just watching the world go by. Got to be honest the food was really good. We would definitely stop for lunch again. Only down side was the mens toilets (unclear) can't comment on the ladies as wife didn't goParking: Not so good if you visit onA motorcycle lots of large pot holes as you enter car park .which if you missed due to watching for on coming traffic you might come off. Which wouldn't make any bikers day

Nice location by the river. Lunch with friends. Service was welcoming and friendly but food service was very slow. The food was great in part but the turkey dinner was horrible. Veggies drowned in thick dark gravy with tough turkey and burnt potato's piled on top. Yuck. Shame because everything else was fine.

Poor service and bad overpriced beer. Shame as we have tried to support this local pub since it reopened but last night the experience and staff were awful. Will continue to support the other locals which offer a welcoming atmosphere, look after their customers and provide a decent pint.

Fantastic stop while cruising along the river. A friendly and welcoming team, good food, and great service.Free moorings and easy access to the restaurant. Moorings could be improved as some areas are unstable.The adjoining sports bar and restaurant is also great, with live music acts and big screen sports.Our new 'local' when out on the river.

Cold mediocre food in Smoke and Spice. Rooms nice but noise from band permeating rooms. Riverside Bar advertised as open late shut when we tried to escape the noise at 9.45. Manager not returning call/email and staff evasive when I asked for the manager?s details. One member said Hannah and another said it was a man! We came away for a quiet weekend with another couple hoping to have a few drinks and conversation and enjoy a nice meal or two. The website is totally misleading and at £390 for 2 rooms for 2 nights without even breakfast I expected something better.
