Convenient, restocks quickly, friendly employees... what's not to like? You know what you're going to get

Favorite place to do our weekly shop, mid week is the best time to go.

Brilliant experience with At school having cone into store with broken phone. Wasn't repairable but bought new one. At school explained thoroughly what to do with clear understanding. Brilliant service

Good selection of produce though I wish there were more varieties of tofu and mushrooms. I've been following recipes from Derek Sarno, an excellent vegan chef, and couldn't find everything the recipes called for. Still, they have plant based yogurts and a great selection of coffees and espresso.

To the board of Tesco store in Ely
Many times I manage to get to the store just before 12 at night. Although the store is supposed to be open until 12, the nice lady closes the door 12 minutes before the store's legal closing time. It can be very frustrating, I don't recommend it to someone who is in a hurry to go to the store for something really important just before closing time, even if it's just one thing, you can't explain it to a woman, she closes the store and doesn't care that there are still 10 minutes left and you want to buy one thing.. I feel sorry for such people.
I do not recommend this place of the store, in other cities it is open until 12 To the board of Tesco store in Ely

Purchase chilled food item, didn?t spot until I got home its use by date is 4 days ago. I?m 20 miles from the store, there is no way to speak to the store to get others removed. Clearly they don?t check dates very often. But the no contact is not acceptable. Perhaps I?ll call trading standards, I can get them.

I was literally scammed, I bought a large amount of cigarettes, around £300, and I saw that a pack of cigarettes was missing, I want to check this on the cameras.

Good store layout and shelves are always full. However it seems like the shop is run by teenagers, very unprofessional (hanging out around the tills, arm wrestling and playing on their phones).

Charged £8 to deliver £25 worth of groceries (£3 delivery plus £5 low basket charge). Was not obvious these charges were both additional- I thought the £5 replaced the £3. Well Tesco, your greed has convinced me to bin my Clubcard and cancel my Tesco Credit Card, so you've lost a fortune. If only consumers voted with their £££ we'd all have a better, more user-friendly situation.

Whilst some of our group spent a small fortune in here, I needed the loo. I asked the security guard where I might find the gents. He told me outside; it was a supermarket and not a public convenience.
I told the manager we'd take our custom elsewhere in future...

Oh, what a s******e! Years ago I used to leave here £300-£500 per month, now only £20-30 and only because it's near train station. They have 14 (fourteen!!!) self service checkouts, out of which the whole 12 ( the whole twelve!!!) are card only. The other two which disturbingly enough are cash & card instead of being at least cash only , are either broken, or blocked by selfish inconsiderate people who pay by card and go to them even though they have the WHOLE TWELVE!!! card only machines available to them, or there's long queue to them of people without cards. And the intrusive, accusative cameras, just yuck!
I spied with my little eye (phone) that for the last few years manager of this shop has been some Spencer Whitcombe. He needs to take his head out of his privileged, detached from reality a**e, look around and see what he's done to this shop.
On the positive note. Down to Tesco's discrimination of people who need/want to be served by a person, and discrimination of people who want/have to pay by cash I rediscovered many much better (and cheaper!) privately run grocer's, butchers, market traders, who don't sneer at customers because of their payment methods. I abandoned boring, depressing, robot like shopping experience in Tesco and replaced it with normal human experience in other places. I stopped supporting ruthless corporation and started paying attention to self-employed humans. Thank you, Tesco Ely!

Shopping missing every week. Rude delivery driver.
