The barman (with the black platted hair) would benefit from using some basic conversational skills (i.e. acknowledge customers) and basic manners (i.e. please and thank-you) rather than continue to chat to his colleague behind the bar, whilst thrusting the card machine in my face, and not even bothering to break fom his very important conversation to tell me how much i owed him for 2 pints, or "thanks" once I'd paid. Maybe platted hair guy needs a re-train on basic customer service?

Didn't stay but had dinner. Lovely chatty hosts. There was plenty of space, not too crowded. Special combo for burger and beer was a good deal. Handy to the shops and cathedral, parking just behind. Recommended by locals too, which is always a good sign.

Had a one night stay for my birthday on Saturday night. Really nice place. Room was clean and comfortable with everything you need. Food was excellent, both the evening meal and breakfast. Staff were attentive and friendly. Nice beer garden area. Highly recommend.

Went yesterday, pub was pretty empty. Ordered fish and chips for both my wife and I (menu is pretty poor), the fish was either cooked in old or burned oil. Chips were reheated so had become kind of chewy tough things. And the prices are too high considering it?s a standard Greene King pub!

Went there for Sunday lunch it was orfull the food wasn't hot and service was rushed.
We felt that it was overpriced and not welcoming never go back

Called in for a snack lunch. The
lady who served us was very helpful and friendly.
Delicious tender chicken in a lovely spicy sauce, perfect for a snack lunch. Looking forward to going again.

Enjoyable 1 night stay for a party in Ely.
Room lovely and clean.
Very low bed but extremely comfortable.
Old metal framed windows as I believe its a conservation building bit it let's all of the faintest of noises in.
Breakfast was delicious although we had a half hour wait and appart from my husband and self there was only 1 other family of 4.
Staff were helpful when needed.
The rooms are not accessible friendly as there are only stairs.

Food and drinks: Drinks are hugely over priced, I nearly choked when told that a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord was £6:20!!!! We are in Ely, Cambs not London and this is definitely not the Ritz!!!
So disappointed in this place, it used to be a charming traditional pub with good well priced drinks, it now appears to have gone all boutique hotel eatery with " we would love to be a wine bare" decor
I shall not be returning
