Four generations of our family spent a very pleasant couple of hours enjoying Afternoon Tea at this very busy and very quaint Tearoom near the river at Ely.
We had a lovely time. The food and drinks were top quality. The service was great.
Well worth the wait outside the front door waiting for the appropriate seating for our group to become available. ?

So this place was busy when we visited at 11.30am (although not as busy as when we left - queue of at least 10 people when we left)...but seated quickly.
So this place is so conveniently located (by the river) that it could have got away with high prices and low(er) quality....however...can I just say this place whilst not cheap...is sooo worth the money.
First of all the decor is very traditional English Tearoom - china plates, tea pots etc..so that in itself is lovely.
Then the food...honestly it was so good, and just felt like it was all prepared and presented with with care. Didn't have the scones, but had mega scone envy - so just on looks alone i would recommend you order one of those. We had a Welsh rarebit and a beetroot, goats cheese, walnut and honey on toasted bread light lunch. Very tasty! And not just a token side salad..a decent lovely dressed salad.
Proper loose leaf tea, and when I was done...I was brought another hot water to replenish my pot.
The staff are fab. Our waiter was super polite, young lad with impeccable customer service...real asset to the team.
Left very happy. Bill was £30 for two lunches and a (refillable) pot of tea

My friends and i enjoyed a tea here. They had GF scones available which were delicious! The tea was flavorful. We bought yummies to take home to our kiddos too.

Really lovely oldie worldy tea room. Large choice of teas, food and cakes. Can highly recommend the good selection of scones and cakes. Will definitely be back.

I loved this place so much! I went back in early October, just as the weather was getting a bit chilly. It was bustling on a Saturday afternoon, and we were seated in the garden space. Though it was a bit chilly, the wonderful experience of tea in a quiet, breezy garden totally made up for it!
The tea itself was so lovely, with a huge selection to choose from. You can tell the love that was put into the food, with all the sweets and sandwiches seeming carefully made, and just light enough to accompany the tea. But the cakes were so generous, that I was unable to finish it on the day! And for that matter, it felt like such a deal to only pay about 25 pounds for tea, sandwiches, scones, and a slice of cake, all in such a great environment.
I was really happy here, and would be so eager to visit again!

Loved the feel and decor!! Good variety in the menu, both good and beverage wise....Felt like we were hidden away from the usual hussle and bussel of life which was lovely. Will be back

Just loved our visit to the Peacocks Tearoom, the whole experience was spot-on, great food, tea aplenty, staff really on their game, and great value. A must visit with a special person, share the fun!

Nice tearoom, but granary bread was dry and cheddar cheese tasteless. I expected better, especially as it is quite pricey.
