I went into Oxfam today with my children as usual. We noticed a toddler bike that we were interested in. Before our two-year-old could even sit on it to see if it was the right size, a staff member quickly took it away, saying it was a safety hazard.
If it is truly a safety hazard, why is it being displayed in the shop? Why accept donations of children?s toys if customers are not allowed to even check them?
We felt very unwelcome, especially as the staff member?s manner made it clear that children were not welcome in the shop. Our children were calm and closely supervised, and we only wanted our little one to sit on the bike to see if it was suitable before purchasing. Because of this interaction, we left immediately and were very disappointed with the experience. Won?t be returning
