We came to see Ely Cathedral but now wish we had more time to discover the city of Ely too. Before our arrival I had never heard of Ely, which I now know is the second smallest city in England and the home of Oliver Cromwell. However, the cathedral is immense - the third longest in England! We didn't even know about the numerous church and monastic buildings that surround the cathedral. The visit to the cathedral didn't disappoint and included a stain glass exhibition that was well worth the entrance fee (£14 for adults).

This Cathedral is not highlighted on maps. I had to actually type in Ely Cathedral to get it to show up! Surely it?s a FOCAL POINT of Ely! Needs to be rectified!

A beautiful Cathedral with an audio guided tour that makes for an excellent day experience. The acoustics in the Lady's Chapel is something to hear. There is a Stained Glass museum in the Cathedral that is worth exploring with little ones too, at an extra cost.

I have always wanted to visit this awesome Cathedral and it did not dissapoont.
Well worth the fee and Do go to the Stained glass section as well.

Wonderful cathedral. Excellent audio guides included in admission price in a range of languages. Toilet facilities available. Small cathedral shop. Occasional physical guided tours.
