The food here is very nice and the building itself is quite quirky.
Unfortunately one of the waiters is particularly rude and rushes you through the meal and ordering even taking plates you are still trying to eat from.
Would have left a tip if it wasn't for him.
The rest of the staff are friendly.
Aim for a day when the tall waiter isn't working and it's great.

Myself and work colleague came from Yorkshire and Middlesbrough for a site visit. We came to Akbars for both all of our evening meals and the food was exceptional. The staff was very attentive and very much helpful and the atmosphere was a great crack with the coals could not recommend the place enough ! Will always come back to Ackbars when ever we find our selves down on Eaton Socon again !

I have been using this restaurant for MANY MANY MANY years. Recently for takeaways but have also eaten in as a couple and small group. The atmosphere is always welcoming and pleasant. The owner and his son are now friends as well as restaurateurs. We now live in Cambridge but always call ahead and order our food. It is always ready and hot. We always Look forward to our next visit?. Great food, Friendly staff and great atmosphere

Really disappointing service. Although our food was quite nice the food was nearly thrown at us, no asking how our meal was, given the bill within an hour of sitting down without asking if we would like anything else, drinks or dessert. Very unwelcoming, we are just a quiet middle aged couple going for a meal to try somewhere that had intrigued us. Almost amused how rude the service was, will stick to the town centre curry restaurants next time!

I wish I could give 5 stars as the food was amazing and the waiter's recommendation was perfect. So much that we left a generous tip. The only thing that ruined our experience was the note left on our car stating that we shouldn't have parked in the empty car park, where we weren't obstructing anything... Shame.
