I made an appointment here for a facial not realising that the original girl (owner) was on holiday. I was not made aware that someone was filling in.I explained that my skin was dry but sensitive and that I had blocked pores which were my main concern. The products used were an unfamiliar brand but I am not averse to trying something new. However, from beginning to end my skin did not feel thoroughly cleansed and the products left my skin feeling more dry. When the facial had finished. my skin was very red and I had hoped it was just a post facial glow but the next day it was still red and even more dry, if that were possible.I have never had a facial in the dark before, how can you address skin problems with no light? I was also surprised that the room was so warm. I would have preferred a well ventilated beauty room given Covid concerns. Initially, I thought the facial was too cheap having paid double and triple in Dubai & London. However, I assumed it was reflecting the market rates in Cambridge and the time frame of 45 minutes.I can honestly say that I am disappointed because I had previously visited this salon and had a very positive experience, although quite some time ago pre-pandemic.

Rachel always gives a professional but personable visit. I'm always very happy with the results for the treatment I have and have been going here for nearly a decade. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

This is one of, if not the best experience i have ever had in a beauty salon. I work within the beauty industry and unfortunately have received many rushed and unprofessional treatments in the past. This Salon is a gem for Cambridge and a must visit if you have the time. Lovely therapist Rachel who i believe owns the Salon who made me feel welcome and was very kind and sensitive to my needs. I will definitely recommend to my friends and to anyone visiting Cambridge!

Just got home from another great facial treatment at The Powder Room. Thanks for making me feel welcome and relaxed, Rachel.

I was given two sets of birthday vouchers for the Powder Room last September. I used one set a few months ago and have just booked a second visit . It was afantastic back, neck and shoulder massege in the cleanest and most comfortable but highly stylish surroundings. The therapist is amazing and so freindly! I practically melted away in her hands. Amazing! Would highly reccommend her as I have had some very dubious experiences when it comes to massages in Cambridge salons before. Give this a go, i garantee you won't regret it! Alternatively, it makes a perfect present for a loved one!

Tucked away in a small parade of shops on Pembroke Street that is within five minutes walk of the city centre, this independent boutique beauty salon offers a comprehensive list of beauty therapies, such as manicures and pedicures, facials, fake tanning and waxing for both men and women. It is set apart from the other beauty establishments in town by the quality of the treatments available as well as the stylish and opulently decorated premises in which these are carried out. The friendly proprietor and (currently only) therapist clearly takes great pride in both her work and her premises. She is very proficient at putting her clients at ease and lavishes them with individual attention, while working efficiently without seeming unduly hurried. She uses the American range of Dermalogica products for her treatments. As she works on her own, it is advisable to book a few days in advance. The salon offers a range of treatment packages as well as a great 15% discount for students.
