My boyfriend and I had the best time dining at the Tamburlaine while staying in the co-located hotel (the Clayton Hotel). Our waiter, Antoine, was super attentive and gave us the best recommendations. I had asked for the local beer and he definitely didn't lie when he said it was a good local beer. The restaurant was very accommodating to my peanut allergy letting me know what every dish contained without having to place a booklet in front of me to flip through before ordering. Everything tasted amazing. I?d highly recommend the everything, especially the sirloin steak, the grilled sea bream, and the brownie sundae.
Despite being the only staff member attending the tables that was not managing the bar at the same time, Antoine was extremely attentive and quick at serving the other guests. Thank you Antoine!!!
The next day, we came back for tea and the service was consistently good but without our waiter from the night before. The Cookie of the Day was freshly baked and delicious. Definitely a must-visit if you?re ever in Cambridge and near the train station.

Delicious afternoon tea. Scones were warm and scrumptious. The service was excellent - Mariana was a great host.

Was pleasantly surprised with the food after reading the reviews, only saw them after booking. Cocktails to start were good, tasty and strong. Whilst the food wasn't high end and for the price just over £100, for 2 including with and a couple of Cocktails you can't expect it to be it was really decent , my smoked salmon was nice and my pork was melt in the mouth , although no crispy crackling. Portion size if anything was to large neither of us could finish our meals. Overall really decent food for a good price

A lovely restaurant with a beautiful ambiance and delicious food. The staff were very kind and helpful with selecting menu options for both drinks and food. Marcelo and Antonio looked after us very well. Definitely a place I will come back!

Came down for a cocktail and pudding as we were staying with the hotel (you get a 20% discount). Very impressed with the staff, food and drinks. Amused by Aussie Rules Football on the TV! No sound thankfully :)

Food and service were excellent. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and the staff made it really special.

When I made our booking (party of 8) I was told we would all get a free glass of bubbly and when we asked they new nothing about this so we did not receive it, this put a bit of a damper on our night. Meal was very good and so was the service. The restaurant was very quite and lacked atmosphere but over all we were happy. Thank you.

Don't do the afternoon tea there, on the website the let you think it is something special but the sandwiches are old en it Costs for 2 persons 58 . Thats to much for what you get.

Very classy hotel, right in the center, 50 meters from the train station, quiet, very cozy
English style restaurant, great dinner and breakfast, very professional, attentive and pleasant staff.
Fabulous and large room, very comfortable, enveloping bed, large terrace with great views.

Went for Sunday dinner back in June 2023, the place was dead - staff were slow and had as much life them in as a flat bottle of Coke. Food was average , certainly not what I expected , I wouldn't spend my time or money there again.
