I rarely write reviews and when I do its typically to let people know about something exceptional. It's nice to be nice y'know. Unfortunately no one has told the salesperson Michael at this branch that.
The first salesperson behind the desk was lovely, a very friendly red haired lady that tried her best to accommodate me. I'd just driven from B and Q who were out of stock of the items I needed and was DESPERATE for the toilet, practically dancing unfortunately and so asked if I could use their toilet. The lovely woman behind the desk said it should be fine but wanted to double check with Michael, who immediately shut the idea down stating 'no, we don't serve food so don't legally NEED to let you use the facilities here' there were two serving staff behind the desk and including me two customers in the store so his second argument of 'we don't have the staff to supervise your use of the toilet' also (whilst sounding odd) didn't really track. It seems odd that someone who was hired in a role that is all customer service was so rude, this was also noted by other staff who apologised for him and the other customer that gave me a recommendation for tool station across the road who (even though they were solo staffed) were more than happy to let me use their facilities.
Every visit up until now at this branch has been great so it was very surprising to see what I can only assume was a poor choice of middle management try to flaunt his little power over the branch he works in. I wont go so far as to never use screw fix again but it will be a second choice from now on

It would be nice to know in advance that there is no store there, it?s a warehouse. You can however come in and order stuff. But no browsing. Went to B&Q instead.

I came into store with an issue for my DIY I was given good advice and the correct tools for the job which was great and my life easier. David was great.

They offer a wide range of tools, bits and bobs and plenty of other interesting things, staff was polite, if you?re a regular, you can get a discount :)

Karlen really helped me out today with fantastic customer service skills. I was having all sorts of issues today with my account, my payment card, arriving at a busy time as well; Karlen was a massive help and did not rush me either. 10/10 employee.
