Terrible experience in store. Useless staff. One till and a staff member jumped me whilst I was in the queue to serve her customer. She was then taking forever and making small talk. I left the shop without what I wanted to buy.

Lovely shop

I?ve always been a huge fan of Reiss, but after my recent experience, I?m left questioning whether I?ll ever shop with them again.
On 16/01/2025, my sister went to return a polo I purchased online on 14/01/2025. It arrived on the evening of 15/01/2025, and the return was attempted barely 12 hours later because it was too large for me. I?d ordered a size up (normally I?m a medium, but the medium was out of stock) because I loved the style and colour.
What should have been a simple process turned into an outright humiliation. A staff member (I?ll update with her name if I can identify her) accused my sister?and by extension, me?of tampering with the tag and wearing the item. She claimed the tag was ?dangling half off? and that the polo had been used. This is absolutely ridiculous. How would anyone even remove and reattach a Reiss tag when they?re tamper-proof?
This baseless accusation was not only insulting but deeply embarrassing for my sister, who was doing me a favor. The item was returned unworn, in pristine condition, less than a day after it arrived?yet we were treated like dishonest scammers.
What makes this even more frustrating is that on the very same day, 16/01, I purchased a different polo and a quarter zip from Reiss. I was excited about those items but, after this experience, I?m strongly reconsidering whether I should even keep them.
This was unprofessional, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. I expected far better from a brand I?ve supported for years. If Reiss can?t manage basic customer service without offending loyal customers, I?ll gladly take my business elsewhere.
EDIT: Completely separate issue but I had a Reiss Quarter Zip I bought in Canary Wharf and wanted to return (found it cheaper online through a 3rd party). Lad behind the till was happy to do it before saying 'there's an issue on the system' and 'it doesn't show as this being bought'. Returned to Canary Wharf branch a few days' later with no hassle at all. The same, 'can't do', attitude appears to transpire the Cambridge team.

Friendly, professional staff members, eager to help with smile on their faces. After my recent horrendous experience at Charles Tyrwhitt I'm quite wary of trying things on and not buying on the spot but of course that's not an issue anywhere else but Charles Tyrwhitt. Very pleased with my double breasted suit.

Terrible customer service. Had came to the store to swap an item to then get home and try it on to find that it is of a very poor fitting. Probably made for a petite size. As I had thought that I finally have the right size, I took the label off and tried it on. Went back to the store again to return it and was told that the label has been removed and they can?t accept it. I could have easily put the label back on but I didn?t. It?s only £30, the manager could have returned it and kept a customer. Suffice to say, I won?t be back to the Cambridge store for sure.

I love Reiss and usually go to the one in Leicester, where staff are very friendly, attentive and go above and beyond to leave their customers happy. I went to this Reiss in Cambridge and the younger staff were very friendly and polite, however a more senior lady at the till was so abrupt with her answers, so I didn't really understand their returns policy, didn't make any effort to even smile and made me feel quite uncomfortable actually. I bought a coat for over £300, it was pouring outside and she gave me a cheap paper bag for it. The bag was about to rip, that's how bad it was, and inside was a brand new, quite expensive item I had just bought- good customer service would be to cater a bit more and put a bit more effort in. I think they had reserved the sturdier cardboard bags for non-sale items- quite silly considering it's still an expensive item and you don't want the product to get damaged straight after purchase.
