Well what a dreadful first experience banking with Nationwide. They caught my attention with their latest marketing ad so I opened an account. I went here today for the first time as was basically just stood waiting next in line whilst 2 counter clerks got on with whatever paperwork was more important than serving your customers who, essentially, pay your wages. 2 of the staff then proceeded to say "two minutes" as they waltzed off into the back office. I'll be closing my account before I have even made my first deposit! Think I'll stick to Monzo.

Why is there no local Cambridge number to ring? 0345 numbers are expensive. And nobody answers the 0800 number.

After opening an online savings account, I experienced problems . So I phoned the national helpline and got hold of Nick in Cambridge, who assured me my money was safe and went the extra mile in trying to resolve the situation. He was truly professional , empathising with me , getting other departments in nationwide ( that were lacking ) involved, and finally getting the problem resolved . Nick kept me updated regularly. He is a credit to nationwide !! Thanks Nick for all your help .

This branch does not even deserve one star, the staff are rude and patronising as I have found on many visits and have been so bad I have switched banks now. Awful !

Poor servicing and mismanagement how could I walk all the way to this branch for my online access and you tell me you?ll post it to me..if I could wait for the post would I have come to your bank they never asked questions for right answers to get it printed to me right away ..I am closing my account and file a reason of poor servicing

Came in on a weekday to cash a cheque and had a mixed experience. The staff were great with not too long of a wait. However a mask-less, homeless junkie forced his way to the front of the line of about 4 people. I didn't say anything for fear of being attacked by the clearly deranged individual but he was obviously making people uncomfortable.The highlight was that he couldn't withdraw the money he was after as it hadn't been deposited by his brother yet. A fact he was not shy about as he was speaking so loudly he practically announced it to the whole bank. Guess you'll just have to put up with the cold sweats and cravings a bit longer my putrid friend.Well done to the staff for handling the situation.

I have found my local Cambridge branch to be most helpful and good to know its right there in the city centre among the shops.
