I wanted to exchange/ deposit a Gibraltar pound note to an English one and they wouldn?t do it.It is expensive to bank with them, bank charges are high and they invest my money into financing fossil fuels. I changed to Monzo and so much happier with it.#InvestInOurFutureNOW

I'm in the bank now and want to kill myself. Been here over 2 hours so far just to open a child account which can't be done online. The staff are very nice but my god this bank's processes are so slow and awful. I wouldn't have anything to do with them if it was up to me but my son wants an account for the 5% interest on his pocket money.

After just a few months of being with HSBC I have already had more problems than with any other bank I have dealt with in my life.Last but not least, I was just on the phone with them after receiving a text, asking to call them to resolve another problem. Was put on hold for over 20 min. Got asked a series of questions by a very incompetent interlocutor who kept asking me to repeat the information and was clearly getting the numbers or spelling wrong on multiple occasions. After a lengthy interaction to answer and correct all the questions, he just tells me some of the information did not match their record and I have now been locked out of my account. Only solution is to visit my branch, which I am unable to do at the moment, or get a new security pack taking up to 10 working days to arrive. So now, trying to solve one problem they have just created more for me and I am unable to use my Internet banking nor solve my initial problem in a timely manner. I simply do not have time to deal with so much incompetency, they will not see me again.Do yourself a favour and avoid this bank!

Really poor service at this bank. Trying to pay in a few cheques shouldn?t be too hard. App wouldn?t accept them, so popped into branch. Machine also refused to accept them. Massive queue with only two cashiers working. Staff not friendly: ?YOU should have filled out x, y and z before coming to this desk? the cashier told me abruptly. On a human level, I don?t understand how someone can be so rude?Banks offer pretty much the same products. The only major difference between is the customer service offered. Dismal at HSBC. After I pay these in I?m swapping banks.

Not a good experience visiting this bank and not worth the time and effort.- it is clear from the experience that this bank doesn't value its customers.- the person at the reception doesn't accept address proof because the date is not in a certain format (dd-mm-yy) and the address proof has additional information (say, 2 bedrooms are mentioned but not there in the application).- can be avoided. The other banks accept the same and you can open the account online.Irrational and outdated process.

On 22 March 2023, I experienced a very good service from Mr Hamish Robb of HSBC UK Branch at Cambridge CB2 3BZ. When I approached him to enquire about my blocked access to my digital banking account/mobile banking app, he was very helpful and patient to listen to my issue. He checked and helped to find a way to solve my problem. He helped me to phone the relevant department as well as to act as a translater for my language barrier to communicate with his colleague on the phone. Well my issue was dealt with and solved under Hamish's help. I genuinely thank him so much for his kindness and sincerity to help and his willingness to provide an effective way to deal with the issue.Meanwhile I really appreciate his courteous and patient work manner which is a very good way to show the hospitality of the bank service. Lastly I wish him a prosperous future in his career.

To sort out one thing I had to queue three times and it's still not sorted after being there over an hour! Queues were short, but waiting in them was very long, 15-20 minutes when there are just two people before me???

They gave me money! What more could you want from a shop? I'm sure there must be a catch somewhere, but I went in and asked for cash and they gave it to me. I might try asking for a Ferrari next time and see if I get one of them.

Atricious customer service and management seems to not care about running a decent business. Oftentimes you run into Catch-22 problems. If you ask them to do something through their internal messaging service they only reply if it makes them money. Phone contact is entirely futile as well, talking to an automated system only.

There was a bit of a wait, but the staff have been really great every time I've been. The express banking machine is kinda awful to use though if you're trying to pay towards someone else.
