The water coolant warning light flashed on but when I tried to open the bonnet, the release was jammed. Jack at Halfords managed to prise the bonnet open with a screwdriver. He then fixed the release and checked the car engine to make sure everything was running smoothly. I?m really grateful and want to thank Jack for such amazing service. He was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. Totally worth the five stars and more!

Brilliant MOT and service for an affordable price - and a special thank you to Jack.I booked online and there was a slight mix up with the time slot I was given but no big deal. Be wary that this may happen if you book online, so probably better to call up.The service was great, with online tracking showing the progress. Jack talked me through the MOT and service results and explained that they had given me a couple of services free of charge, that would normally be £20 each!I'll definitely be using Halfords again.

This was a great garage while Marco answered the calls with his friendly and honestly helpful character. I think this might be one of those places where customer delight very much depended on a single person. I've just learned that sadly Marco actually left this garage so it's now Jack who answers the calls. I've just had a chat with him about my car which has the same symptoms it had almost exactly 3 years ago. This gave me a great chance to compare the customer experience on the phone now and back then. The contrast is striking and makes me sad really. Jack instantly went into saying they can't help without considering any option for diagnosing the otherwise strange issue (the car suddenly stopped). If an engineer immediately jumps to a conclusion from a few minutes long phone conversation and without any evidence, is he or she a good engineer? On the other end of the spectrum: Marco was always willing to go above and beyond and most of the time squeezed in my car for a same day checkout. It was a long time ago, but I think this happened 3 years ago too. It might had taken a few days but my car had been fixed and along with a reasonable price I also had got an expert explanation about what happened. I really liked this garage and I really did not want to give it a negative review but I'm afraid I had no other choice this time. I don't think I'll visit them ever again. BTW even their phone system seemed to go downhill somehow. It was hard to reach them and when I managed to, the line broke up 3 times. So long, and thanks for all the fish Marco.

So firstly to start I would like to introduce myself as a lady lacking in knowledge of cars, taking an old car[ on top of it Renault one, seems like a big pain in the back for mechanics] for a MOT, scared of worst however I was served by 2 gentlemen and luckily there were very honest with me, professional,helpful and I have not finished bankrupt because of them.On top of that I have received a £5 discount. Definitely recommend that place ? ??

I went for MOT check there on December. The manager Jack is very friendly , very good engineer and willing to help. I had some issues with my windscreen washer jets and he manage to make a quick fix in order to pass the MOT without charging extra. All the engineers there are friendly and willing to help . I recommend the Halfords Autocentre Cambridge Clifton Road. They have good prices and good service without hidden charges .

I have been going to Halfords Clifton Road for my MoT for 5 years. They do what they can to help your car get through the MoT. If it fails you can take it away to get it fixed and bring it back for a free re-test within 10 days. This time when I brought it back for a retest the headlights that had been polished still failed. Jamie and Jack improved the polishing to get the headlights to pass, so I got my pass MoT ? with no extra charge. Thank you Jamie and Jack good spirited of you. Marco used to be the manager. He had the same helpful spirit, which is why I go there. Pleased the helpful spirit lives on with Jamie and Jack.

No nonsense efficient serving/MOT. Nice attitude by all the staff. No upsells, or other main dealer malarkey.Note: this is not a Halfords retail store and only handles car work. The main store is at Newmarket Rd, and the larger vehicle servicing behind it on Coral Park. Each has their own local telephone number and worth calling direct.

The team is normally good and friendly. The last time I went, there was a new team member who was very rude and unprofessional... great shame as the manager Marco is helpful

What a waste of time these guys are. I phoned early in the week to book in for an aircon diagnostic and was advised that the earliest they could do the work was Friday. I went online and booked the 0830 slot on the Friday. When I arrived on Friday at 8 o?clock they said their machine wasn?t working (they could have phoned to reschedule) but someone was expected in to repair it. I phoned at 1130 and was told they wouldn?t be able to do the work that day as the machine was still broken. I walked around and collected my car and was assured by the manager (Marco) that I would receive a refund of the amount I?d pre-paid on booking. At 3.30 pm that afternoon I received message on "order tracking" that the work to my vehicle had been completed (wrong) and that I had been invoiced (also wrong). Three days later I?m still waiting for my refund. Their attitude and disorganised approach is really poor ? I definitely wouldn?t recommend this branch of Halfords.

Always had amazing customer service here from Jacek and the team, they?re professional and honest with good prices and have always done a great job on my vehicle. Would recommend using these guys as they?re pros and know what they?re doing!

I have MOTed my cars at the other Halfords branches and thought I'd give this one go (they had the soonest appointment available). They didn't disappoint. Smooth and quick, I was able to pick my car up in just over an hour. Also the person behind the counter was super sweet and helpful. I'm sorry but I forgot his name, it was either Italian or Spanish. Great customer service!
