Location is great - 30 minutes walk into town centre, 10 minutes walk to nearby grocery shops. Room is on the tiny small side, however the beddings are of a very high quality. Walls seem to be soundproof and well insulated as I had a very good night sleep. Only downside is the people managing this property. Extremely unwelcoming, rude and passive aggressive (with the exception of the male staff). I wouldn?t be back and won?t recommend it.Noteworthy details: Extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly staff

The hotel is very basic. The room that I stayed os was quite large and warm. However, it was a bit old to the level of some of items was not working all the time. The bathroom light switch worked 50% of the time. The bed side lamp needs some shaking to work. But the most inconvenience was the door lock which worked on the 7th try while the reception was closed ?

Recommended place if you want to travel in cambridge and want to live close to the train station. Available and very good service in Chinese as well. You can stay in the lobby and study after checking out in the morning. The staff can help keep the luggages. The lobby was pretty too.Rooms: Rooms were big and comfy.Safety: Sometimes not really safe if you walk out alone in the evening.Walkability: You can go to Jiamart right near the hotel. It is also close to the train station. Not too far away from the city centre if you walk.

I have developed a deep fondness for this place, as it has become my home for the past 17 days. It offers great convenience, with everything I need just a two-minute walk away. The Wi-Fi is reliable, the room is comfortable, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it for an extended stay, given its excellent price-to-value ratio.Nearby activities: Coop, Subway, IMAX cinema, gym

A bit tried and needs refurbishment but rom medium size with ensuite. Clean and relatively comfortable given needing update. It is all about location for value. Located on main road with bus stop across road to catch to CBD. Parking is available off street is a bonus.

The hotel cancelled our booking on the day we were due to stay. They gave us some excuse about there being something wrong with the room. Booking.com later wrote and said that the hotel had in fact been overbooked. We booked the hotel rooms through Booking.com six months ago in order to stay in Cambridge after an event. In the end we had to drive home.

Warm and friendly staff on arrival. They will happily store items of luggage in their office. The rooms are a little outdated and I noticed a number of tears in the fabric if the curtains. Could do with a little bit of love. However, I had a decent night's sleep and was happy with the price I paid. I would return.

very good receptionist, and responsive to messages. They also provide parking space and luggage storage. The building is a bit meh, with a very uneven and noisy floor, without elevator and with tiny stairs.Rooms were not looking too good: old forniture and some spider web here and there, but they were generally fine.I would advise to not having breakfast there, and it's not worth the price IMO.A 15 minutes walk from the station, or a bit less without luggage.

Clean and tidy, a little dated, helpful staff, good value for money. I suggest the Italian restaurant 1 minute walk away is good for dinner.

Should get 3 1/2* really ...The whole building is a little tired ,dated and in need of a refurb. The staff were great though, very efficient, warm and friendly . Breakfast didn't change over three days .Located on a main road , the city centre is either 7/8 minutes on a bus or a 15-minute walk .There's a chinese restaurant attached to the premises. The food was fine but more expensive than it should have been ..It was Ok for our short stay but wouldn't be rushing back .Rooms: Functional but tired , bed ok , pillows spongy, window either closed or wide open , holes in the net curtain..Walkability: Under 10 minutes to Botanic Gardens, 15 minutes to the centre ..

We have just arrived home from a two night stay, and for the cost we were very pleasantly surprised. I agree with the comments that it could do with modernisation but I can?t see the point of them spending thousands of pounds on wallpaper and new furniture when the rooms are clean and tidy with lovely white towels and crisp white bed linen. Very cosy and warm too despite the heating not being on in the room. The water pressure in the shower is very good and our room on the top floor facing the back garden was quiet and had very effective blackout curtains. Any investment into the property would surely necessitate a huge price hike, and who wants that?! If you want to pay double for posh coffee and farrow and ball paint then go somewhere else !! The staff are polite, helpful and friendly, and there is plenty of parking both out the front and behind the hotel. The tea and coffee was replenished immediately on our request and anything else we needed or wanted we were told to just ask. Neither of us were bothered about breakfast despite it?s available for a extra cost, (I?m not sure if this is evident from the booking.com website), and with so many cafes and coffee shops in Cambridge, which is about a half an hours walk away down a straight road, plus buses running constantly to the City which stop more or less outside the hotel, there?s plenty of choice if you enjoy eating first thing in the morning ! If you like Indian food I can thoroughly recommend Rajbelash which is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel along the same road into the City (I?ll be posting a separate review about them later) All in all as I said we were very pleasantly surprised ? yes it?s cheap and cheerful, but really nothing at all to complain about except two minor things? the bed was literally so hard, I like firm mattresses but I woke up both mornings feeling almost bruised, a good quality mattress topper would rectify this in my opinion (and I?m sure had I bothered to ask the staff for one they?d have sourced it for us with no complaint). Secondly, and this is a very very minor point, we?d have liked a couple of packets of biscuits to have with our morning cuppa !

Absolutely splendid service, really well organised hotel we had a very lovely stay which for us was a flying visit on our travels but the hospitality was just excellent for us and had all we needed. If you are after the full English breakfast then this isn't the place to come but the continental breakfast was fine for us and served by a very welcoming host.
