They always say "you get what you pay for" and it certainly applies to Clayton Hotel Cambridge. If you want a little luxury without a huge price tag, then the Clayton delivers.Ideally placed within 1 minute walk from the rail station and just 10 minutes walk to the historic centre / colleges. No Car parking, however the station car park is conveniently located just around the corner with plenty of spaces.

Clean, modern stylish hotel. Spacious rooms with a wonderful comfy bed. We loved our stay here. Our only complaint was breakfast. It was chaotic. Tables weren't being cleared and the self service coffee machine couldn't keep up with demand. Shame as the quality of the food was excellent. I guess the difficulties getting staff may have impacted this. Overall though, id recommend the hotel and would come back.

Staff were smiling and helpful. room was 10/10 clean. in addition, quality was more than enough.Heater was the only problem. It always stops suddenly, after restarting, it initiate automatically on the cold mode. And became unresponsive for a while, and that makes room even colder..

Large rooms that are kept in beautiful condition.Great location and the second floor was very quiet with the exception of the odd over zealous door slam from others staying there.

Celebrating our anniversary we throughly enjoyed staying at the Clayton Hotel Cambridge. We were given a lovely message as it was our anniversary when we got to our room. Great buffet help yourself breakfast with the staff being incredibly helpful and very polite. In particular we had (sorry didn?t catch his name) serve us at the bar on Friday 1st March just after 8.30 who couldn?t have been more helpful, definitely an asset to the hotel. Thank you to the team for making our anniversary that little bit more special. Will definitely be back!

Stayed in room 325 for 3 nights this week. 6th business stay in last 1 1/2 years. Tidy but missed refilling of: shower caps, tea, bottles of water (the later are perhaps not complimentary). Noticed that fridge is not cooling properly which could be dangerous to store food. Resulting in food poisoning by a packaged sandwich with 3 days shelf life left. Breakfast is fine. 2 x dinner: 1 good second time sirloin steak (rare) was like a shoe sole and very long grained (never seen this in 53 year).

Very cosy hotel. It seems as it was renovated recently. Everything is sparkling clean and new. Room is big. Bad is soft. Plenty of pillows. One strange thing was that there was no hot water at evening. It reappears around midnight and all is fine in the morning. My colleague lived on the another floor and has not had this problem. Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit salads, yogurts, scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, pastries, OJ, etcStaff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Dining Club Meal Friday 26 January 2024We (my sister and I) arrived at the hotel and restaurant to host this meal of the Dining Club along with our two guests the father and daughter, and as a venue, and as it was my first time there, the decor of both the entrance and the restaurant looked very good, when we all arrived and were seated, we ordered drinks a glass of red wine for my sister, a bottle of still mineral water for myself, a glass of Chardonnay for the father, and a bottle of Diet Coke for the daughter, and we also ordered our starters, which was a plate of Sweet Potato Falafel, Marinated Cucumber, and a Lime and Mint Mayonnaise, for myself, with a Garlic and Rosemary Baked Camembert Cheese with Plum Chutney, Toasted Breads and Crudites which was a shared dish which my sister, the father and the daughter had, even though the daughter said that she did not want a starter. For the mains we had Three plates of fish of the day, which was a fillet of salmon, cooked skin side down, with a caper and White Wine Sauce, New Potatoes and Samphire, which my sister, the father and I had, and the daughter had Grilled Sea Bream, with Chermoula, Tenderstem Broccoli, New Potatoes and White Tahini. For Dessert we had Treacle Tart, Clotted Cream, Mandarin and Mint Salsa, and the daughter had a pot of Green Tea.Overall we all really enjoyed our Meal very much, and the service was very good, I recommend the hotel and restaurant.Food & drinks: The Hotel has the full range.

This hotel was absolutely sublime! From the decor when you walk in, to everything in between. Check in was easy and reception staff extremely polite. Locating the room was easy and the room itself was stunning. My partner and I were really impressed. The touches with the room details and extras, extremely comfy bed, really nice modern styling. On the front door to the station but we parked in the station car park a short 2 min walk and felt safe to leave car there. Only a 20 minute walk into the city centre and a super quick cheap taxi back. Overall we absolutely loved our stay at The Clayton and will definitely be returning (whilst checking out the other locations too).

Stayed here for the weekend. Whilst the location is great, I thought the rooms were a bit overpriced. Beds were really comfortable though. But avoid the breakfast at all cost! For GBP 16, it is totally not worth it. It was one of the saddest hotel breakfast I've ever had..... scrambled eggs tasted like cardboard, hash brown were not crispy and fried eggs were over salted.

Very close to the Cambridge train station. Large rooms; rooms on the 7th floor have a balcony from where one can get a lovely view of the city. It has a large restaurant with a bar section. It has large meeting rooms with TV screens and a large conference room.
