I had an absolutely awful experience at Chicken Cottage Cambridge today. We spent nearly £50 on food, expecting a decent meal, but what we received was shocking.
First, my brother ordered chicken and rice at the counter, but instead, he was served a poorly cooked, tasteless wrap. When we politely informed the staff that this was not what we ordered, the response was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of correcting their mistake, the staff completely rejected our words in a very disrespectful manner.
Next, we ordered two whole grilled chicken meals and some additional items. The food was prepared in an unprofessional and unhygienic way, clearly lacking proper cooking skills. My brother asked to speak with the manager, but the person in charge arrogantly claimed to be both the manager and the boss, refusing to acknowledge any complaints.
To make matters worse, another staff member, a man in a white shirt, came from the kitchen and started arguing with us aggressively. His attitude was completely unacceptable, and I was left wondering who these people were and where the actual owner was?probably asleep, ignoring how his restaurant is being run!
The situation escalated to the point where it felt like they were ready to physically fight us instead of resolving the issue. When I asked the man in the white shirt who he was, he arrogantly replied, "I am the chef here." I was even more shocked?how can the so-called chef, who doesn?t even know how to prepare food properly, behave this way instead of addressing the complaints?
Instead of owning up to their mistakes and fixing the issue, both of them wasted 15 minutes arguing with us aggressively. This is not the first time we?ve had bad service at this place, but today was by far the worst experience. I was on the verge of calling the police, but I held back.
Their attitude made us feel like we were eating for free instead of paying customers. There are so many restaurants in Cambridge with better food, better service, and better hygiene. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If you value good food, hygiene, and respectful service, avoid this place at all costs

So rote stuff. Not take my order properly when I?m asking they saying you have to pay again and charge me double. Put mayo on my food I didn?t even ask for it . I have allergy.When I?m asking where is the manager they saying I?m the manager I worked here four years . Please not order you will be regret. Food is disgusting so dirty no food hygiene.

Food was horrible, completely inedible and the chicken had a weird chemical taste. Had to bin it after two bites. I have tasted from the Bradford branch and one in east London and this was by far the worst. Only reason why it's two stars is because the service was good and the people seemed nice.

CC you were my first love, what happened man. I miss the old you, with the old owners. Fried chicken is dripping with oil I couldn?t even taste the meat itself. Gave me the smallest wing. The first time I tried cc was a few year ago, it was extraordinary, the crunch, the meat, everything even the sauces. But now they didn?t even give me the spicy mayo sauce. The food was nice but the place definitely needs a refresh. Very old and not clean enough, also the shop smells too much, there is a need for better ventilation.

Since the change of ownership, CC has gone even more downhill (it?s always been inconsistent tbf). I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but after the second time order, I don?t think it?s worth going there. Please see the attached pics from a recent order via Deliveroo. Hair inside the chicken and look at the wings? box? what exactly am I paying for? I should?ve called to complain but at this point, my family and were starving. Old and tasteless chicken pieces. Chips were good, at least!
I think this is it for me. I?ll take my money elsewhere, and I suggest you all do too.

They switched to an awful chicken supplier, which ruined a lot. Their staff don't put much effort into making the taste good either anymore.

I ordered from this restaurant through Deliveroo, and it was one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. The food arrived with a terrible smell that made me immediately skeptical. When I opened the containers, it was even worse?everything looked stale and unappetizing. The taste was just as bad as the smell: greasy, bland, and clearly made with low-quality ingredients. To make things worse, there was a slimy texture to some of the dishes that was downright disgusting. I had to throw most of it away because it seemed unsafe to eat. I can?t believe I paid money for this awful experience. Avoid this place at all costs if you value your health and your money. Never ordering from here again!

It's ok. The cheese burger is ironically better than the chicken burger. When I order I ask for leg pieces as breast pieces are always dry, but my requests are never listened to. The taste of the food is ok. I order from here out of convenience more than anything else.
Vegetarian options: I believe they do a veggie burger.
