We stayed here on 12th March, on driving into the carpark I thought oh dear, but I have to say the hotel inside is immaculate, lovely staff , great rooms , perfect location and breakfast was really good, I would highly recommend here to anyone visiting Cambridge.

Don't be put off by slightly shabby exterior ! Interior was clean abd bright . Our room was large and bed very comfortable. Decent breakfast and was able to take several items for snack lunch! Location is admittedly 15 mins walk from centre but its a beautiful walk across the river and parkland. And consequently that distance makes it a lot cheaper than hotels closer to town centre. Really good takeaways nearby too.

We are immensely grateful for the team at Ashley Hotel for the most heartwarming stay we had originally chosen the hotel based on its location being within walking distance of the wedding we were to attend, so we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of service?especially the quality of the full English breakfast every morning?(and also the old-fashioned radio in our cozy room which we haven't seen for the longest time!!????) We would also like to make special thanks to the team as we were in a hurry to leave the morning we checked out but with a blocked toilet, so deepest thanks for all the help in fixing the toilet!!!????????????

Me and my partner stayed at The Ashley Hotel and it was very disappointing I must say. The room smelt fusty, it was terribly outdated/depressing decor and not clean. I found a maggot in the shower cubicle? that says it all really. At that price you expect cleanliness at the very least. The only good thing about it was its location.

I cannot believe this is only a two star hotel. The rooms are clean, shower hot, breakfast delicious, and the location is great. Being able to keep a parked car here is awesome too. I would come back here for sure. The only thing was my husband had some egg shells in his breakfast.

Dated and dusty. No reception manned most of the time. Hot tap was cold and cold tap was hot!

Looks old and it is but the in side is well looked after and clean breakfast was goodWould stay here again good location easy walk along the river into city plenty of pubs within easy walking distance theatre and drink

Given the fantastic location for what we needed and size of the room which included breakfast it was very good value. The staff in the pub opposite were also professional and friendly. The breakfast staff at the hote were helpful and though some staff were off unwell these 2 were really holding it together and with cheerful greetings! Also the house keeper who made sure we had what we needed and it was very clean.

Arrived Saturday 4th march friendly staff and nice size room also breakfast was really nice. The only issue was the whole hotel was very cold and even had to use 2 blankets to keep warm! Think the hotel needs more radiators.

Pleasant room, helpful and friendly staff. breakfast was nice, with good quality ingredients. Although coffee was instant. The only meal served was breakfast, but you can eat at the Arundel and charge it to your room ( we didn't do this), it was about 20 min plesent walk to the town centre over the river and through a park. I would consider going back there.

Great room for a weekend stay - clean, comfortable, and spacious. Just as important to out stay, was the breakfast service. We want to specially mention the incredibly kind and professional breakfast service by Nicola at the hotel. Couldn't have asked for a better host who made our stay much cosier and homelier than any of our previous stays in Cambridge!

On arrival having to walk 15 minutes down the road in the rain to check in - not a good start! We had 2 rooms and requested them to be as close together as possible, not expecting one on the ground floor and the other on the third floor- with no lift, or help with bags. Deep sigh, but ok. Rooms nice and spacious, although dated decor, we settled in and proceeded to go out for the evening. On arrival back, the whole building was so cold. There was NO heating what so ever. We spent the whole night shivering under the quilt. The ground floor room was next to the front door, and every person coming or going could be heard and the door slamming all the time, needless to say no sleep was had! Breakfast - one lady serving on her own, waited an age as she was rushed off her feet and when breakfast arrived I wished we had gone to the local cafe down the road. The cutlery was dirty and we had to ask for replacements, and the view out the window was of a bodged small drainpipe going in to a bigger one held together with a bungee strap. Would NOT recommend
