Unfortunately, my experience with Braai Shack at a fundraising event this weekend was terrible.
While I understand that the event was busy and the stall was under pressure as there was no other food vendors, this does not excuse the rude and unprofessional customer service we encountered.
Professionalism is key. If you?re going to operate in such a capacity, you need to be prepared with the facilities and systems to manage the crowds fairly and efficiently.
Food aside, the way customers are treated leaves a lasting impression and sadly, this one was not a good look for Braai Shack.

I recently attended a fundraising event that featured a food stall from the Braai Shack which unfortunately left a lot to be desired. While I understand that events like this can get quite busy, the customer service at this stall was disappointingly rude.
When I approached the counter, I was met with unfriendly attitudes from the staff. Adding to the frustration, I was falsely accused of taking food when I had been waiting in line and they would be the ones giving out the orders. This confrontational approach was not only Very unprofessional but also made the atmosphere tense for everyone around.
It's disappointing when a business, especially one focused on serving the community, fails to uphold basic standards of customer service. Just because the staff and I share a cultural background doesn't excuse the rudeness exhibited during my visit. If they intend to run a successful food stall, they must improve their facilities and training to better handle crowd situations and offer respectful engagement with customers.
As the only food stall at the event, they had a unique opportunity to shine and help foster a positive environment, yet they fell short. I sincerely hope that they take this feedback to heart and work towards a more professional approach in the future.

We got in and was told we had a 2 hour slot, as my friend and I don't see each other much because of our jobs, we like to relax and eat, not much chance when we kept looking at our watches. Didn't have afters as we didn't want to overrun our time limit. Can't say I would recommend this place to others and it's a shame. Would like to have tried some of the other meals on the menu.

I visited and sat down at one of the tables. Unfortunately, the service from the waitress, whom I believe is named Johanne (light-skinned with glasses), was quite poor. She approached with no greeting or smile?just a blunt ?What do you want to eat?? I asked for a menu, which she brought, then returned to the counter. Instead of walking over to take my order, she shouted it from behind the till, which felt unprofessional and off-putting.
I almost left at that point but decided to give it a chance. I?m glad I did because the food was actually very good. The chef personally brought my meal with a warm smile, which made a big difference and was a refreshing contrast to the earlier service.
It?s a great place with potential, but they really need to work on customer service?especially first impressions. A little kindness and professionalism would go a long way
