Dining at the Three Crowns was a delightful experience. The food was exceptional, particularly the Sunday Roast which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. Small plates offered, which for me with a small appetite, is essential. Shame I hadn?t found the Three Crowns before I moved away! But will definitely visit again when I travel up from Devon to visit family. Well done, top marks ?

As a group of four, we all had a delicious meal in the stables at The Three Crowns. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

The place was busy as it was around Bank Holiday weekend. We?ve managed to get a table and were served efficiently, team had a very good dynamic going. The food was good, and I mean it as the portions were massive! However it did feel like a very heavy lunch. We only ordered mains and couple of drinks, which were good as well. Despite the busyness we felt seen and taken care of.

Without doubt the best food around the area. The staff are all so polite and courteous, Charles the landlord takes time to look after his customers and the beautiful listed building. Every landlord around the area should take a leaf out of his book.

TLDR: Best roast dinner I've ever had and friendly staff. Above and beyond in accommodation.
My grandparents and I are visiting from British Columbia, Canada, on a mission to retrace the steps of our ancestors. Of course, it was essential that we have a Sunday roast. What we didn't realize, however, was how far in advance we would need to reserve! We tried several places that were all full. The Three Crowns was recommended to us by the chef at George and Dragon, who went above and beyond to help us.
When I first called, I received the usual response. "I'm terribly sorry, but it doesn't appear we have room." However, as we were speaking, a table was beginning to clear. She told me that if we hurried, they should be able to squeeze us in. We rushed over, and sure enough, luck was with us. We got a table. Boy, am I glad we did! The food was spectacular. The three of us had a beef roast. Rich in flavor and cooked to perfection, it was better than I had imagined. The pride they take in their establishment was clear in both their service and food. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
