Came here for afternoon tea. Food and drinks were delicious. Understaffing meant service was slow. Ordered vegetarian sandwiches but given meat, took 15 minutes to receive veggie sandwiches. Only then the waitress realised we hadn't received drinks which arrived 5 mins later. Waited 40 mins for 2 drinks, table seated after we ordered got their drinks before us!?!? Staff were working hard, credit to them for doing their best. Dirty plates replaced straight away. Tables chipped and bench seat was wobbly. Ok experience, needs renovating and more staff.

Not as good as it used to be. No table service, fruit scone was very small and it was pricey (£17.50 for a tea, a latte and 2 scones with cream & jam!)

I love Patisseria Valerie in Milton Keynes, but today it was horrible, I sat down at the table at 10:30am after 30 minutes of not being noticed I decided to order online, the order came after 30 minutes but without coffee, the coffee came after 10 minutes, I basically wasted an hour for an egg royal and a coffee. I'm sorry, but I will go to another location. not to say that the waiters are very careless and bored. I also forgot to mention, he simply brought the cutlery in his hand without a napkin, that is, I did not receive a napkin!

Unfortunately it has gone very downhill. We waited a long time to be seated, the floors weren?t clean and the tables sticky. You go up to order now which is fine but wait ages to make the order. Our drinks didn?t come over in the end and they got our order incorrrect the first time. I think they are very understaffed. The food itself is nice although the menu has been greatly changed with a lot less variety. I probably won?t be coming back for a while which is a shame as we are regular customers

We came here as my partner had been gifted a voucher for an afternoon after I had told him how good Patisserie Valerie is where I live in Cambridge.Disappointed is an understatement. We walked in and waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged, the waiter kept looking over but ignored us.He was reasonably nice to us and cleaned our table before seating us and explaining we need to order at the counter. My partner went and ordered. We sat for around 10 minutes whilst we watched a child clambering around the tables whilst his parents ignored him (not the shops fault i know this) he then started touching the afternoon teas which had been abandoned behind our table for 5 minutes - why are these just left out?!When our afternoon tea came out we said we hadn?t received our drinks yet (cappuccino and a white hot chocolate) and the lady snapped at us that they were on their way - they weren?t.We ate the food, which wasn?t great at all - sandwiches were dull and cakes were awful. We waited a further 15 minutes with no sign of our drinks, and staff just stood around chatting whilst the manager was working hard to make up for his staff?s laziness. My partner went up to ask if we could have the drinks as it?d been 30 minutes and everyone who had come in after us had been and gone before our drinks were made. These were then promptly brought out but we asked for them to go in takeaway cups as we?d had enough of being in there and were both getting irritated by the rudeness of the waiters and waitresses. The manager (i presume as he was wearing a smart sweater) came over with our takeaway drinks and said he was going to unredeem our voucher as he felt bad - he is honestly a gem of your staff as we hadn?t even said we we?re unhappy.Overall an awful experience, we won?t be returning but would like to say a thank you to the manager who was amazing.

My husband was in MK so I asked him to bring home some of their delicious cakes?..How disappointing! 2 x Red Velvet slices were so stale the fork couldn?t actually go through the cake, 1x cheesecake, this was old and dried out, 1 x Strawberry Gateau, also old, stale and dried out. How disappointing that they feel it?s acceptable to sell stale old cakes, but even more disappointing that there is clearly no quality control nor any regard for customer satisfaction.

Popped in for coffee and a cake after a busy day shopping.Stood for 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged.Gentlemen looked over multiple times however did not come over.Waitresess walked by without even saying excuse me and barged past.Staff more interested in talking to a person who worked there but was on day off and a family member who bought a child on to say hi.More important than cleaning dirty tables and customers obviously!Worst experience of customer service I have seen for a long time.I would suggest head office train staff again as they are costing you money and customers.Avoid.

A very disappointing Saturday afternoon tea experience. We queued for 20 minutes a metre away from a member of staff who never made eye contact and looking at empty tables and chairs that needed clearing. We were eventually shown to a sticky table. After a long wait for a member of staff to take our order decided to use the QR code. After another long wait, scones arrived but no jam or cream and the waitress was very surprised when it was pointed out on the menu. We were asked how many knives we required as there was only one available. Tea was delayed for 20 minutes and required two prompts to the waitress. The scones were heavy in texture and the tea weak. On exit the waiter questioned whether we had paid as, 'he didn't know what was going on'. An experience not to be repeated.

My first and most likely last experience of the famous and most talked about ?Patisserie Valerie?. I?m truly dissatisfied with the service I received. My wife has always wanted to have afternoon tea here and I decided to surprise her for her birthday. When we were shown to our table our order was taken and my coffee arrived with half of it in the saucer. We waited 50 mins for our 2 stands to arrive whereas the people queueing behind us were already halfway through theirs. Our children was extremely hungry and it made the whole experience horrible and I was really embarrassed and felt responsible for letting my wife down on her birthday.

Arrived here are 12.45, had to wait 30 minutes for a table outside, which was ok as it was a busy time of the day, we were shown to a table by the manager of the store, we sat there for 20 minutes before someone acknowledge that we were there, we gave our order to the waitress, and 30 minutes later we have received no drinks and no food. I asked when we were likely to get our food I was told it was coming after 35 mins our food has still not arrived. We are still sat here waiting for food and drink to arrive !!!! I think the service today has been the worse it has ever been, I will not be visiting this place again!!!!!

When a cake craving kicks in... drop into Patisserie Valerie. The cream cakes looked irresistible! So I decided on a slice of the Double Chocolate Gateaux. Incredible chocolate sponge with dark chocolate cream and chocolate ganache. Next cake craving...I will be back!Great choices and customer service too.

Visited today, got seated, waited at least 10 minutes for order to be taken. Waitress visibly disgruntled that we only order 2 teas. Waited 20 minutes in a half empty restaurant before walking out. Can't recommend food or drink as we had neither, but service was unacceptably slow

I had their traditional breakfast and it was disgusting! All of their food was overcooked, burnt and tasted like rubber! I asked the manager if their food was cooked fresh and he said ? No, they were ?precooked? and frozen. They just needed to reheat them?!He said this was what the head office gave them and it is out of his control on the quality of the food!Even Wetherspoons breakfast beats them on quality, taste and value for money!I felt sick and threw up when I got home?.I will definitely not come back to this place! What a shame as they used to be really good, but since post-covid they went down hill and cutting corners on the quality of the food!Very disappointed!

We had the afternoon tea for two.The Milton Keynes branch was better than the Nottingham one we visited. But the decor and furniture still needs a bit of a refresh. The service was average, we advised one of the staff members that we wanted a vegetarian / pescatarian option as there are no halal options. The staff member said don't worry, I am a Muslim and you don't need to worry. When the sandwiches arrived, a few of them were bacon filled. What an insult and epic failure from staff and kitchen with a complete lack of communication. This was flagged up and after another wait, we received a fresh batch of non meat sandwiches all full of cheese. I would think twice to come back to a Patisserie Valerie again. They have really cut corners, flagging half hearted business and not as good as pre lock down.

Regular customer at Patisserie Valerie,in different areas.Experience on Thursday at Milton Keynes was not impressive.Staff were unwelcoming, unattentive and made you feel like you were an inconvenience. It seems cleaning tables was a bigger priority than attending to any customers .If staff shortage was an issue, it costs nothing to be welcoming and professional. Have been to Patisserie Valerie numerous times ,in different locations, when staff numbers have been reduced, but the situation was explained and staff were still professional.NOT the case at Milton Keynes, where staff prefer to ignore you.Customer service and satisfaction should always come first.Unfortunately can't provide any food critic, as ended up leaving without eating. The manager and staff need to start looking at and actioning reviews left by customers.
