After several frustrating years with other providers, my first visit to Hammond and Dummer quickly diagnosed the issue. Claire referred me for cataract surgery, and less than 2 months later I have had the procedure successfully completed at a local hospital. Claire worked tirelessly to support me during the initial diagnosis, follow-up, referrals and appointments, ensuring that I felt well-supported at all times, and ringing/emailing back the same day if there was an issue. I cannot recommend the service highly enough.

Amazing service from the team - Couldn't have been more helpful. Went to seek help this morning due to an issue on a pair of broken glasses (purchased elsewhere) and they were more than happy to help. Not being a local and not having a spare pair on me I was in a bit of trouble. Fast forward 30 mins and the team had fixed the problem and I was handed back a pair of working (and cleaned) glasses. Fantastic customer service. Highly recommended - Thank you so much

Claire and her team offer a fantastic, friendly, in-depth eye care service, with such advanced diagnostic machinery they were able to discover a critical underlying health condition (brain tumour) that my GP hadn't managed to diagnose. Thankfully, due to Claire, it was caught in time and I am fully recovered. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hammond and Dummer. Fabulous.

This is probably the most important recommendation I shall ever make; I was referred to them by another less equipped optician last October with concerns about my vision, they identified very quickly that I had a detached retina and contacted The John Radcliffe Hospital. They saved the sight in my eye because of the immediate action Hammond & Dummer had taken, I was totally unfortunate to have the same thing happen to my other eye last month, same process, after a phone call I was in the hospital two hours later and surgery with 24 hours! Your eye sight is one of the most important things you will ever have, this company is the best you will ever come across, lovely people that really care. Thank-you for your due diligence as a result I can see my lovely wife and my young daughter grow up! ?

Apparently, the service in store is great. But after 15 phone calls without an answer, I lost the will to live. Blinded by the complacency, frankly. BLINDED. Literally! This is a myopic approach to customer care and an area you need to focus on more.

This eye care practice is one of the best I have ever seen. They have space age equipment and very good staff. But you pay a premium. That would not normally be a problem for me. However, I have just discovered that the monthly plan I was using with them was not at all good. Will change the way i do business here but recommend it totally if you can afford it!

Its over 3 years now since using Hammond and Dummer, another great experience today, Emma took real interest in fine tuning my prescription and making sure that all my eye tests were as they should be. The investment they make in technology is very clear to see and really inspires confidence that they do everything possible to provide the best outcome. I have now enrolled my family on the H&D scheme as its apparent there is a significant difference when comparing their experiences to my own.

This is a most professional and technically competent practice. The premises are welcoming and elegant, the range of products is beautifully displayed and all the staff are knowledgable and helpful. Claire and her team are highly trained and inspire total confidence - they use the most up to date equipment and take care to ensure you understand all the results of the tests. Astonishingly brilliant experience from start to finish. The staff were knowledgeable at every possible stage of the process, friendly, sympathetic to the absolute ignorance of a 40-year-old-first-time-glasses-wearer. They got everything done super quick, communication was impeccable. I honestly can't say enough good things about them.

The expertise and customer care at H&D, and the cutting-edge, specialist eyecare equipment used by the practice, simply cannot be rivalled by the big-name high street chains. I've suffered with keratoconus since my teens - about 45 years - and in that time I've had corneal grafts and, more recently, laser surgery in both eyes. I've been treated by more than a dozen eyecare providers, of varying levels of specialisation - and Claire Ranger at H&D was, by miles, the most committed of all them to finding a solution to my very tricky situation. At one point, about a decade ago, a contact lens "specialist" at Vision Express tried just two lenses for my problematic right eye - and then gave up, declaring that there was nothing further that technology could do for me, and that I would have to live with the failing vision. I consulted Claire - and she tried a couple more lenses, and a couple more after that ... until we found the right fit. Near-perfect vision, for another decade! In the past year I've struggled again, with age-related dry eyes making it impossible to continue with RGP lenses, but Claire has searched tirelessly, and found a new solution through a soft toric lens that I can wear 16 hours a day without discomfort. I can recommend her with absolute confidence ... and that's not just me speaking; it's the world-renowned Harley St specialist Allon Barsam too; the man who carried out my recent laser surgery (look him up on Google!). When he heard who would be taking care of me, post-op, he said: "Claire? At Hammond & Dummer? Oh, she's good - she's very good!" High praise indeed, from one of the top eye guys in the world...

Outstanding. Beautiful. This is the best optical practice I have ever visited. You can tell as soon as you walk in that you are dealing with quality. But wait, does that come with the same level of service and support? Yes indeed. Claire and her staff are really helpful and will spend time with you to ensure you get what you want - great vision and a great look.I could not recommend Hammond and Dummer more - definitely worth a visit if you are in Milton Keynes.

The service provided is outstanding. Not only is the equipment used highly sophisticated compared with that of previous opticians I have encountered, examinations are thorough and time is taken to show the results of tests and talk them through, clearly and with patience. No question was treated as silly. Answers are detailed and straightforward and delivered with humanity and respect. The level of expertise is impressive. I feel very lucky to be a patient of this practice.
