Currently here, we came in. To one person on the counter and there were no advisors at the entrance to greet customers. They sent my grandma round in circles. There was a brunette lady with a foreign accent at the counter who i found to be quite patronising. They need more staff. Not just one person on the counter and an advisor who is no where to been seen because she is serving customers. If you have merged three banks there should be more staff.

Very poor customer service. I went there yesterday to pay a water bill as the Lloyds Bank branch was closed. Halifax is part of the Lloyds group and was told I can go to Halifax to do some bank transactions. I found the Halifax employee on the counter a bit rude and abrupt and I couldn't make the transaction needed. There was a Lloyds bank employee working next to her, she was understanding of my situation but couldn't do anything as she's not a Halifax employee. I found her very understanding, polite, and very professional. In the end I left and went to Lloyds bank in Slough and explained the situation and what happened. They told me what Halifax did was very wrong and apologised to me on their behalf. I went back to the branch to give some feedback but the manager had already left as it was about to close for the day and will be going back when it reopens after the bank holiday weekend give them some feedback and what needs to change.

Kind of a scummy bank, my Mum has recently passed and have been trying to close her account for 3 weeks, provided the manager my legal government ID along with some bank statements and a bill to prove i am who i say i am, they told me they don't accept citizenship ID which is a legal form of identification by the way, then eventually told me they'd add me to the case, i call back a week later to see if i am on the case and they haven't even bothered to add me to the case, scummy bank, scummy customer service, rude unhelpful employees.

Very poor. I was in the bank 5 mins and saw one elderly lady told to 'look online' and that 'no there were not advisors in branch', that customer left the branch. There was one single member of staff on counter service (v slow queue and large handwritten signs on the counter service desks saying CASH ONLY). When I asked why they were not more staff on the counters, I was told they only ever have one. I was told to use a machine to pay a cheque in (not shown how), the gentleman ahead of me paying in a cheque was unable to use it and had to rejoin the counter queue (cash only ?). I paid a cheque into the machine but because the previous customer had not finished his transaction, my cheque went into his account. l was told that the staff member with the key to the machine was on the toilet! I was then told the cheque (a gift) would have to be asked for again. Zero marks Halifax for customer service, communication, understanding and compassion. I was having a pretty awful day and your customer service was the last straw.

Pleasant enough on arrival but most unhelpful when actually dealing with a query and couldn?t wait to give me a number or refer to online. No wonder high street banks are closing, they?re useless.

I requested to take out a large sum of cash over the phone on Monday and was told to come into branch today (Tuesday) anytime. When in the branch the service wasn't the best the cashier should work in security not in a customer facing role she asked for my card and ID like I was about to get arrested. I was then told no one was aware about this request and they didn't have the cash. I was then told it would take 48 hours and to now come back on Thursday. The website says 24 hours notice should be given however the cashier said its 48 hours. I've always had issues with Halifax and this branch.
